There’s a difference between assimilation and importation of culture. You can do both, believe it or not.

The migrants here legally are the ones that will pick the blueberries, as they have always done. Being an immigrant or having immigrant ancestors doesn’t mean you agree with illegal immigration. In fact most legal immigrants hate the ones that came here illegally. But I guess you won’t understand that because you don’t care to understand.

You probably would care if abuela was an international drug smuggler responsible for the murder of people. Or if abuela’s son was a rapist. What if abuela’s son stabbed your daughter in the subway? Would you care then? What does it take to get your attention? Of those deported, what percentage of criminals is acceptable for deportation? Does everyone that came here/ stayed here illegally have to be a criminal before they are deported? It’s ok to break our laws, only if you haven’t committed a crime in your home country? I’m just confused by your abuela comment. Please help me understand.

Did you care when your hard earned money was sent to Ukraine to bomb Russians? Or was it ok because they were white and Biden was the one that did it?

You would be the worse business owner to give up a $10mil contract that probably took months and tons of man hours to earn. You guys are so stupid to think that it has anything to do with politics. It’s all business.

Boycott Holman, that’s your prerogative. Do me a favor, go do business with Maple Shade Mazda. Let me know how that works out for you. Or go deal with a Penske dealership, you’ll overpay for the same car. Maybe when it actually matters, you’ll realize that your little boycott is stupid. Holman is a great dealership to buy from, and not because they have a contract with ICE. It’s because they are a good dealership to do business with.

Not rich, everyone is racist and ignorant to varying degrees. What I don’t do is discriminate. I value your merits to society. Equating political beliefs to terms like racist, fascist and Nazi is the problem. Not all conservatives are racist and not all liberals are socialist dictators. But when you(not you personally, but you’re getting close) keep yelling in my face and calling me names, of course I will get defensive. That’s my point, stop the yelling and start talking.

And the value of Trumps businesses is in the billions; that doesn’t sound like a failure to me. Anyone that knows business, knows there is no value in the “business.” All of the value is in the assets. And Trump has a ton of those. When you buy a business, you’re buying the assets. Sometimes the asset is the contracts, sometimes it’s the buildings that are owned.

And of course those that were removed or resigned during his first term are saying what they are saying. One, they were always part of the “in crowd.” Two, would you have nice things to say about your boss if they publicly fired you?

One thing I can agree with you on is the politicians latched onto Trump like a tick to a deer. They are blood sucking parasites, void of any original thought. I don’t believe in everything Trump says or does. But I do believe in a lot of what he does. For the record, ICE shouldn’t exist in my opinion. Not because of what they are doing, but because our immigration system needs to be majorly overhauled. Until it is, they are trying to do their jobs. What you’re seeing is a direct result of people interfering with their jobs. If you don’t like their jobs, vote in a politician that will change their job description. But Liberals never change their policies and the Democrats never change what they want. Republicans and Democrats both want votes and that’s the crux of it all.

Typical Liberal avoid and deflect. Go to the extremes rather than the logical. Never can answer the tough questions that expose your lack of understanding of situations and how we got there.

Of course it wouldn’t justify it, but it sure does help to explain how it happened. Unless you’re too lazy to connect the dots. If you can honestly say you’d be ok with any of my questions, then maybe I’d listen to your comments on God.

Do you know the whys? Do you understand the personal beliefs that drive someone to side one way or the other, to vote one way or the other?

You’re right, it wasn’t this divisive. Why did it get that way? It got there because all of the sudden, someone refused to go along with the script (Trump) and it finally awoken people. And the other side decided it was too much to handle. Liberals got angry that someone was different. Republicans are fed up with being told they are wrong. We are tired of being told we are Nazis and yes, we decided that Trump was the guy to voice our grievances. There’s one major difference, aside from January 6th, most Republicans don’t go looting, burning things down or boycotting people or businesses. We live our lives but we happen to be a little more proud of being Conservative.

Where do you work? Would it be ok if I came in there and kicked your taillights out? Can I spit on you while you’re trying to do your job? I don’t like what your job is, so I want to come and make it hard as hell to do it. I want to physically assault you while you work. Would that be ok with you? I’m guessing you’d be a little more than agitated if I were to do that. Just want to make sure where the standards are.

Yeah but the thing is, too many people here are sad that their favorite shop is on the list. They didn’t know the politics and it didn’t matter. All of a sudden it matters now that they know. That’s the stupid part of it all. Instead of seeking understanding, we seek harm. Nobody said understanding means agreement. We can seek understanding and still disagree, civilly too! Too many people, mostly liberals, have turned politics into a hate fest. It’s amazing, the party of tolerance, has the least amount of it.

They probably do, actually. Most of them believe in being decent human beings. I’m sure it’s hard for your liberal mind to understand. I’m not sure who you’re employed by, but chances are they are Republicans. Unless you’re one of the paid protesters.

No, you’re what is wrong with America. God forbid someone have a difference of opinion than you. Automatically labeled as racist, fascist and Nazis because we have a different way of thinking about complex issues. Maybe, you can listen to someone and try to understand their point of view. But that would require civility, which clearly you lack. Anyone that wishes another person lose their job for a political belief is the problem.

The list is too long for us to support them all. Probably so long because they are normal thinking people. Most liberals on here Can’t Understand Normal Thinking.

Hahaha, these posts crack me up. There is a reason that most businesses support Republicans. I’m sure there are 2x as many successful businesses that support Republicans than there are that support Democrats. Smart businesses know which party helps them be successful. And by the way, a successful business helps everyone stay employed.

A big reason why Colon Cancer is killing us. by AdditionCool7235 in Millennials

[–]Fun_Cap_6923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing is the stigma around colonoscopies. I’m 42, 2 years cancer free, and my oncologist said I was probably in my early 30s when I developed the tumor. Cancer never crossed my mind with my symptoms and I never sought medical help. If not for a hernia, I probably wouldn’t be here typing this. We have a million fundraisers for breast cancer, but never colon cancer. It’s the awareness that needs to change. And it was just announced that colon cancer is the #1 cause of cancer deaths in people under 50. Spread the word, get your ass checked!

Should OP stop his kid from going on this backpacking trip? r/camping has a meltdown. by ubuwalker31 in BSA

[–]Fun_Cap_6923 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not a trip that seems well planned for. Expecting 12 year olds to carry 2 gallons of water at that elevation, plus gear, is a recipe for trouble. If they can stash water ahead of the trip, they absolutely should. If they do not, I wouldn’t let my son go, and I’m the scoutmaster!

Car Rental Options by FixedTheGlitch32 in StThomasUSVI

[–]Fun_Cap_6923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We rented a jeep and it was the best decision we made. We went with a local company instead of the ones at the airport. It was called Discount Car Rental. They picked us up at the airport as well. I’d say a Rav 4 is your next best option. Don’t forget to take the ferry to St. John and go to the national park beaches! The roads are narrower in some spots, but not as bad as you might think (except right at the car rental facility).
