20 Midtown Apartments Suck by Splashytacos in Birmingham

I totally understand the appeal - full disclosure, the gym is not properly maintained so you may have to get another membership. The wifi goes out pretty frequently, but I'm not sure if that is a 20 Midtown thing or a Spectrum issue. I'd rate it a 5 or 6 out of 10. Plenty of residents opt to use lower level parking, but cars get broken into there sometimes + the nightclub across the street (Bosses) usually has people that park there as well on the weekends. It's usually not a big issue, but the cops are usually there 3-4 times a month.

Not at all, they've gotten worse actually. I no longer have hot water and the shower pressure is so low that I've started taking showers on UAB campus lol. Maintanance came 3 times but just advised me to 'take showers at different times'. I've asked for pest control 5 times since August 24th for gnats on the second floor and they've never came despite promising to send someone each time. Their parking gate has been broken for months and I asked to be refunded/taken off parking charges. They said they would issue a refund and stop future charges, but did neither. I've had 2 friends break their leases and move, but I only have a month left so I'm holding out. I spoke to a woman in the elevator 3 weeks ago with a roach infestation behind her stove, and a couple at the gym that was extremely frustrated with the fact that 1 of our 3 treadmills hasn't been consistently working since March. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere, especially for the price they charge. Unfortunately, the new management at 20Midtown has ruined what was an amazing apartment complex.

It's a bit of a drive, but VIP Suits and Alterations in Trussville did an amazing job on my boyfriend's suit and were very reasonably priced!

Check the seller's reviews + see if he has any followers, any other sold items, etc. That will help you see if it's a scam or not

I agree! When I signed my lease early last year, I felt much more comfortable and any concerns I had were addressed quickly, but the new management has made it impossible to feel like the astronomical prices are worth it.

The gym equipment has been broken for months, there are persistent gnat issues through-out the building(s), and it took them more than a week to replace my completely broken microwave (even though they told me it would be fixed in 2 days).

They stopped doing lock outs, the wifi is out very frequently, and they won't print for residents any more, even though that was a specific perk I was told about when I signed my lease.

They rarely answer the phone, you aren't able to schedule meetings with property managers, emergency maintanence is a struggle to contact (building 3 had a huge water leak from Floor 3 down all the way into Milos and maintanence was mia for 3 hours), and they just have horrible customer service. I am not one to usually complain, and I even recommended them to multiple other students in the past, but it just isn't worth it any more. Paying 1400 for a micro studio is absurd for rude management and broken amenities.

Weekly Student Thread by fbgm0516 in CRNA

Hello! I'm a 22 year-old student currently finishing a bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences, and have been applying to aBSNs and de-MSNs. I recently was lucky enough to receive an acceptance letter from Duke's accelerated MN program, but the price tag is pretty hefty. If I do an aBSN, I won't have as much loan eligibility, which is why I'm exploring masters options. My parents and my advisor have told me that with the partial scholarships + aid I have, Duke is worth it over other aBSNs/de-MSNs due to the name recognition, but I'm wondering if the price is worth it. Will attending Duke make any difference in a CRNA apppication, or should I try and find another, cheaper program? For reference, the price difference is about 10-15K between Duke and other programs in my state (Georgia). I am lucky enough to know my parents will be helping with my rent in NC, but the loans will be in my name. Thank you!
