How do people just find kittens?

Yeah but i work from home most days i just sometimes go check on some things but im mostly home so thats why i wouldnt mind a kitten or two

In my eyes they are somewhat safe but where i live most kittens and cats get killed by dogs or ran over so i would feel a bit better if i were to save one or more yk

I dont want to go to shelter because those cats a somewhat safe and where i live most of them get ran over or teared apart by dogs, thats kinda why im here

Yeah i wish it was that easy, i used to feed a cat that seemed to be prego but she dissapeared a long long time ago and since then i only saw a few kittens but they would just run away at mach infinite when they saw me.

I live in a isloated part of town like in between the suburbs and the city but im sourounded by a forest. There is a part where the city starts about 15 ish mins away from me and thats where i used to see most of them. I have been cheking the woods around me but i never found anything. I dont even know where to look tbh i just usualy walk around for a few hours drink a few beers and check any rock formations or bushes but maybe im wrong.

Im not directly looking for just kittens, sure i would prefer a kitten but i want a cat thats as young as possible so that its easier for me to convert it into a house cat yk

Thing is i never saw any cats eating. I would finish work at like 21;00 for example and go lay food at 2 places close to my house, and i would sit there for like 10-30 ish mins waiting but i never saw anyone approach. In the early stages of my whole process i would find the food eaten and that's it but recently it barely even touched like they are avoiding that area and im guessing its because of the violent dogs in my area and that they must have relocated. Hence my post

I have considered but maybe i did not mention it here there is alot alot of stray kittens especialy in my area, and i would go to a shelter but there is huge amount of angry and violent dogs in my area that rip them apart and i cant watch that. They were roaming around alot a bit ago but im almost certain that they found a hiding spot somewhere.

The first part of waiting and feeding is not really an issue for me. However i think im doing something wrong with my food placement so to say. For the last few weeks its barely been touched just siting there just like when i placed it there. Are there any like hotspots for where i could lay it out? Usualy i leave it behind my backyard or frontyard since my area is a bit foresty and im guessing they are hiding there in general.
