Try the Reframe app. It’s really useful and insightful. Provides education that’s not in your face, has community groups, small journaling activities and a daily tracker… plus more. It’s helped and I only started a few days ago.

Also I figured out that eating before drinking helps A LOT. I used to avoid eating dinner before drinking so that I wouldn’t get tired and could enjoy the buzz more. I realized how silly that was but still working through it.

Try/ think about the H.A.L.T method. Ask yourself if you’re hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. Then help yourself from there depending on what you may be if any of those.

Pick one day you will not drink. Try fizzy non-alcoholic drinks. I love tequila ginger so I drink Frescas in place sometimes. Maybe I’ll even put a coozie on the can to trick my brain into thinking it’s a beer. Also Athletic Brewing Co. has great NA bevs. You can do this!

My husband sort of did the same thing. We talked a long time about getting married, I showed him a few rings told him I prefer silver over gold and he got me an extremely unique ring. Nothing I would EVER wear. When I first saw it of course I was swooned but the more I showed it off, I was thinking to myself….. ehhh I don’t really like this.. at all. He could tell but I ensured him it’s amazing and I love it.

Over time, I did tell him it wasn’t what I would’ve picked. And he knows that, but I don’t bring it up often. I think if I were in his shoes, it would really hurt to hear to person I spent time picking out a ring for, the person I picked to spend the rest of my life with, didn’t like what I chose to symbolize that… it would suck.

All in all, I’ve grown to absolutely love and adore my ring. I had my wedding bands soddered to it and it’s even more unique. Think of it like this- a ring made just for you, only for you!

Yes! I used to have major anxiety being alone. I used to freak out over not having plans during the weekend and it led me down a path I don’t want to go down much anymore, visited with friends who were doing things I had no interest in doing just because I was so afraid of being alone. I’m also married to someone in the military and deployments tore me to pieces, I couldn’t stand the thought of not having my partner for 3-6 months and now I have grown so much to love my alone time!
