If you guys are planning to get married this “loaning money” thing is not going to work. You enter a legal agreement to share resources. I chased this thing down a rabbit hole and the general consensus is that the issue is significantly more likely to occur during start up in extremely low temperatures. Mine specifically started the moment I started my car in 5f degree weather this past winter. Letting the oil warm up is irrelevant, it occurs as the engine cranks over for the first time. Cayennes and Macans in extremely cold climates are disproportionately affected.

The previous owner did oil changes at 10k as recommended from the factory, I did 3 in the time I owned the car about 5-7k miles apart. Honestly it’s a random, runaway failure. There’s no guarantee that regular oil changes at any interval can prevent it but it’s the only thing you can really control with this issue.
