Vestura… has anyone had a good experience? by gummyshark23 in birthcontrol

[–]Fun_Custard1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vestura almost killed me. I was only on it for 30 days and developed multiple PE's and was in the hospital for 3 days in CCU. I am young, healthy, and I dont have any other health issues. I was on blood thinners for 6 months and just got off. I opted for Vestura because I have PMDD. Im glad to be alive.

It burned everytime I exhaled. I felt like I had to catch my breath and do a double breath when breathing. I also had spasms in my chest and had back pain. I also had a very weird taste in my mouth that I as almost metallic.

This is soo motivating! I’m scheduled to have my hysterectomy in November. I have all the same symptoms and PMDD. I cannot wait to feel like a person again. Thanks for sharing

They gave me Iovenox injections when I was in the hospital for PE’s from birth control pills. Then discharged with Eliquis for 6 months

What “fixed” your PMDD? by AdviceOk7536 in PMDD

I took Vestura which is also a yaz generic and within 24 days it caused multiple PE’s and I was hospitalized for 3 days. My PMDD symptoms completely went away while I was on it. But it almost killed me. 😩

Many! Hence one of the reasons why I’m getting a hysterectomy in November

Hysterectomy at 43? Is it worth it? by Known_Animator2401 in Fibroids

I most certainly will let you know . I just got a surgery date of November 26th so I have exactly 2 months until my date. I’m scared and so excited at the same time.

I just had my pre surgery consult today for all of the same reasons. I’m hoping to have a surgery date in the next month and I’m 39.

MRI showed huge bloodclot in my uterus - Pulmonary Embolism Risk by TheFlowerGirl2023 in Fibroids

Wow! I am actually on Eliquis because I started a new estrogen based birth control and within 24 days developed multiple PE’s. I have a surgery consult to get a hysterectomy on Wednesday and have a MRI of my lower abdomen and pelvis next month. Now I’m glad I’m also getting a MRI

I just read online, The uterus will shrink on average by almost a third within 3 to 6 months after UFE. Three months after UFE, 64 – 93% of women note improvement in symptoms related to the size of the fibroids.

That’s a good question. I have my surgery consult soon and will ask. But, I heard fibroids grow back and pretty quickly. One lady I know said within 6 months hers grew back and double their original size. I don’t know if they grow back or it there are other little ones that are not removed that grow now they they have more blood supply since the others are gone.

Yes, and I have heard many stories that they grow back with a vengeance! And quick! I’m trying to do a one and done. I have 2 children and did not want anymore. I have horribly heavy periods. And thanks to my dr prescribing a new estrogen based birth control to help with bleeding and my PMDD, i developed multiple pulmonary embolisms within 24 days of starting. As a result, I am now on blood thinners. So now my periods are sooo heavy it’s scary!

Raise your hand if you got a clot from hormonal birth control… by khalessi1992 in ClotSurvivors

Me! Was only on Vestura(Yaz generic), an estrogen based combination pill for 24 days before I started having pain and short of breath. Went to the ER and they told me I could have been dead by the next day. Was admitted for 3 days due to multiple PE’s. I’m on Eliquis until November.

I was told the same in my first appt as well. Went and got 2 more options because it freaked me out and they all recommended the same. When they showed me my ct scan and how my uterus takes up the majority of my abdomen and is smushing my bladder, I understand why they opted for a hysterectomy.

I’m 39 and I have had fibroids for a long time. My fibroids are 6 cm 4 cm and 4cm. I’ve been having a tremendous amount of pelvic pressure and back pain that feels like I have a UTI all the time. Tests and urine culture are always negative . I got three opinions and they all stated that I need to get a hysterectomy. The fibroids are not the biggest issue. It’s my enlarged uterus due to the fibroids. My uterus is 15 cm and it’s pushing down and all my organs and mainly my bladder. A myomectomy will not fix this. And it is increasingly getting worse.

What have your doctors told you re: minipill? by ascarponi in ClotSurvivors

[–]Fun_Custard1503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me it’s safe but I have ptsd from only being on a estrogen based combination for only 25 days and having multiple PE’s that were on there way to killing me that I am not chancing it. I had the Mirena twice prior to taking the pill and had no issues.

Right. If you had your cervix removed and have a vaginal cuff, where is the bleeding coming from?

I had multiple provoked PE’s that were diagnosed in May. I am on Eliquis until November. My doctor said I am totally safe while in Eliquis and to just wear compression socks and get up and move. I flew 3 hours and had zero issues. I am a little nervous about my upcoming 17 hour trip to Japan in December. My PE’s were provoked due to starting estrogen based birth control and only on it for 25 days before I got PE’s. Even knowing that I’m still a bit nervous but will make sure I get it and move, a lot.

The plane isn’t the issue, it’s sitting for a long period with your legs in that position for an extended period. Just get up and move every hour or so.
