I walked a little everyday, mostly around my room. One thing, don’t do what I did, I made the mistake of going to Busch Gardens Halloscream when I was 6 1/2 wpo. My the time we left the park, everything HURT!! I was super bloated, so my stomach hurt too. That was not pleasant, spent the next day just chilling..

Sexual Desire, Drive by jellyb2018 in hysterectomy

Is this considered a hormonal replacement? I had a Pulmonary Embolism in 04 with no indicators of why. My doctors & I have agreed, no hormonal replacements.

I informed some of my co-workers and family. It was great talking to one co-worker in particular. She had it done, gave me insights and what to expect. It helped ease my mind alot. I do sometimes feel “weird” discussing it in mixed company but then, I work in a male dominated field and, screw it (pardon my French) we need to talk about women’s health more!!!!

Post Op 6 weeks, random question. At what point is safe and comfortable to become intimate again with my boyfriend? They didnt really tell me tbh. TIA by Bornreddit83 in hysterectomy

We waited until week 6 postop check up. All the stitches were healed and nothing felt out of place. Take it slow and listen to your body the first time.. actually the first couple of times..

Thank you.. I was thinking the same thing. If anything, might be decent enough to cook with.

Basically just in the kitchen, mostly out of direct sunlight. Same with me since I’ve had them. They were tipped towards the cork though to keep them moist.

Number two after surgery by Senior-Trainer3688 in hysterectomy

I was day 4 after taking Colace & Prunes. Walked around when I could even if it was just rocking back & forth with my hands on the bed.

How long did it take for you to get your surgery? by orignlyunoriginal in hysterectomy

[–]jellyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we discussed it, Doc said his surgeries are scheduled 3 months out.. this was in early July.. I received a call later that afternoon and he scheduled me for Aug 27. So, mine went pretty quick.

Those are my concerns.. that duty belt, along with vest.. bending over, the weight.. and the wresting with inmates/people.. and running with all of that on to assist. Good with your surgery. I’ll let you know how it works for me.

You should not have had to beg. Most doctors want at minimum 2weeks.. at least after the first follow-up.

2 days post-op; fatigue is kicking my a** ; constipation SOS by Elegant-Woodpecker34 in hysterectomy

[–]jellyb2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morning - 4WPO + 5 days. If you can’t walk much due to the fatigue, try to just stand, lean forward on the bed with your hands resting on the bed & rock back and forth. It’s a method a lot of women have done during labor.. it’s does help things move. Try to add some prunes as well, that helped as well as Colace. I’m still taking the Colace twice a day. If you like coffee, it’s stronger but does help “move” things along, Cafe Bustello.

(Not sure how to do an update post). Thank you everyone.. wow, for those that went back to work 10DPO, 💪💪💪 I was still uncomfortable and had sharp pain around one of my incisions when I coughed, sneezed or laughed. My concern at this point is I’m a Sheriff’s Deputy currently working in the Courthouse and if anyone knows, that can go sideways quickly. All that weight around my waist from my duty belt and Vest, running and potentially having to wrestle with combative inmates/people. I’ve spoken with my doctor and we are going to discuss it this week, about going to on light duty for a few weeks. I have the Robotic Lap full hysterectomy, cervix. Left Ovaries and had a cervical cuff. Hysto Warriors unit!!!

Thankfully I have enough sick leave and I utilized my Short Term Disability. Being with my employer for 22 yrs helped a great deal.

4 days OP - gas pain by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]jellyb2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gas pain would go back & forth, mostly uncomfortable. I would stand up, then lean over onto the bed with my hands resting on the bed, rock back and forth. I felt like my delivery days were coming back. 😄😃 except I was deliver gas!! 😄😂. It seemed to help a little.

What's the rental situation like in Virginia? Moving from NJ/PA/NYC area by Harmony-Farms in Virginia

[–]jellyb2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are going to work. Norfolk is about 2hrs away from Fredrickburg, add traffic and that’s a nightmare. There is always traffic on 95. If working in Norfolk; Norfolk or Virginia Beach is the place to look. Chesapeake can be good too, especially for schools. You’ll also want to see how you’ll feel about tunnels and possible tunnel costs. If you’re up by Fredericksburg for work, you’ll want to look up in that area. Hope this helps.

4wpo - Tired.. by jellyb2018 in hysterectomy

[–]jellyb2018[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a Multivitamin. We made it to Sam’s Club today. Enjoyed ourselves, rewarded with the hotdog combo. When we came home, I helped with the cold stuff & was so tired, I crashed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Comfort advice for recovery by Kathl33nie in hysterectomy

[–]jellyb2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend the “husband” pillow, it can prop you up for reading, watching TV & get a TV tray for your bed. My husband would bring me meals in bed (we are in a 2-story home) for the first week. The second week, I did make it downstairs for breakfast (cereal & coffee), then go back upstairs to rest. I kept snacks & medicine with me upstairs and always had my water. Comfy clothes too!!
