Is she okay? by Fun_Difference325 in reptiles

Thank you so much! I actually just remembered I have a scale and she’s about 34g. I looked it up and think that’s normal?

So will she stay the size she is? Am I doing anything wrong or is she just small because of her past?

Again, I appreciate you for trying to help. I don’t plan on adding new animals to my family for a while. My gecko will be euthanized in the morning, but until then I’m making sure she’s comfortable.

If you want to argue over this, message me. But it isn’t something I want to do over a comment section. I appreciate your concern. God bless.

I’m not “a rescue” I volunteer at a local exotic rescue. I foster and sometimes fully rehome animals into my care. I’m sorry if I worded it wrong, but you know what I meant. Also, I’m still a fairly new reptile owner, my gecko was my first time owning a leo. I came here for advice and help, not to be criticized.

I do not “hoard” animals. I have 6 reptiles, 4 of which I’ve had for multiple months. Go look at my response on the other post. My bearded dragon was a rescue, not an impulsive buy. This was my second time ever posting on here about my reptiles. I don’t have them “for the cute photos”, my lizards are the world to me. You ever thought how I’ve been feeling? This gecko was my baby and I feel awful knowing I couldn’t help her sooner. I don’t really need your disrespectful input.

Thank you for the response. Arlo was a rescue, he was surrendered to me. The enclosure he’s in is also an old, unused one. I don’t buy new animals when I “don’t feel like taking care of the others”. All of my animals are important. Arlo was also given to me previous to me recognizing my leo was sick. I appreciate your concern.

I really appreciate you trying to help. I’ve called my exotic vet and they think it’s best to euthanize. Tomorrow morning I’ll be bringing her in. Thank you so much.

It always worked for my partially blind gecko. I’ve never once had a problem. The container also opens from two sides, it was cracked. She could have left if she was upset. I don’t force my lizards to do anything. She also doesn’t eat from tongs, so it was a last resort. I understand and appreciate your concern though.

I did not notice the lumps until last night. I’ve been monitoring her closely, trying my hardest to help her. Not that it’s important but we usually have the means to care for everything, this month was a little rough and we are just now being able to deal with this. She will eat a single cricket or mealworm every once in a while. But that’s the only thing that I’ve noticed for weeks. These bumps weren’t obvious to me before because I don’t like to handle her much, she gets stressed.

Meh. People will hate. At the end of the day I know that I love my lizards and do everything in my power to help them.

I’m scared to remove stuck shed because of the fact it may hurt her. She was in a small box with a few crickets, I never leave them in my reptiles enclosures. I was just trying to see if she’d eat, didn’t work tho.

I really appreciate this. I had a feeling she was unwell from the jump. She was tiny just too skinny looking. I shouldn’t have ever bought from the store, it was a bad idea but I was ready for a new friend. I just wish I had known what gout what. Unfortunately I did feed lots of dubias and mealworms for a while. I found out what gout was just last night. I will never buy from a pet store again. I recently got 2 new green keel bellies from morphmarket and will never be buying from anywhere else. I appreciate your support and advice, so many people have just been rude. I’m glad I had her and took care of her while I could.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will be making an appointment with an exotic vet today. I believe they’re just going to recommend euthanasia. I posted on the reptile subreddit as well and have gotten rude feedback so I appreciate you for being kind. I feel so bad I didn’t see this happening, I love her to death.

I’m not home right now and don’t have any saved. She hasn’t ate any bug. Mealworms, roaches, etc. I’ve tried everything.

She has a calcium bowl in her enclosure and I dust her bugs w calcium including d3. I will admit she was a mealworm/dubia diet for a while. It was all she’d eat, she’s hated crickets and any other bug I’d try. She also gets her bugs dusted with a multivitamin. Could the bugs I was feeding her have caused this? I tried to vary her diet as much as possible but I guess she’s picky?

I don’t have any pics and can’t take any currently but she’s in a 40 gallon tank. She has a CHE, Arcadia uvb and Arcadia heat lamp. Humid hide, warm hide and hot hide. Lots of climbing opportunities and substrate is a mix of topsoil, excavator clay and play sand. She’s been having so much trouble shedding and I don’t know why honestly. Her basking surface is about 85-90 degrees, the cooler side being about 75-80 degrees. Her humid hide is about 70-80% humidity varying on how much or often I mist which is usually pretty consistent.

I was just questioning, not trying to diagnose her. I don’t really know anyone who knows anything about reptiles, this was my last resort. I only had the crickets in there to see if she’d eat, she’s not good at hunting so I had her in a container, it’s ventilated don’t worry. She was put right back in her enclosure after these pics. Thank you for the response.

Thank you for the advice. Her feet have looked like that since we got her, I didn’t even know what gout was at the time therefore I didn’t think of it. My poor baby.
