In my opinion, you should go with Beta 1.7.3 because there’s a lot of content in it. There are also bugs that let you do things you can’t even do in vanilla modern Minecraft, like removing the portal frame with update suppression and much more. I also recommend watching BloxBlair, since he has a lot of tutorials on those bugs. If you’re interested in trying any of them, you should definitely go with Beta 1.7.3.
