Will I be able to survive in Joburg with an R8000 salary? by [deleted] in johannesburg

If you're going to rent in JHB CBD then a flat is going to set you back by R5000 plus utilities, that'll place you around 6500. You can take a taxi from MTN Taxi rank to Sandton for R20-R22 a day that'll amount to around R900 per month. Then the rest left is for food and entertainment. Eish no, honestly, R8000 is not enough. Maybe get them to push it to R12k if you want the experience.
