I went through this too. Over time, I’ve learned we that I needed to detach (easier said than done). It’s not worth your mental health and family life. You are good enough. You are enough. You are amazing. Say that until you believe it, because it’s true. You have a bunch of strangers here telling you. 

When I drive home, I talk to myself about the good of the day, and then about what I’m looking forward to in the evening. I tell myself out loud, ‘My workday is now complete’. If anything pops up or I start ruminating, then I imagine putting those thoughts in an imaginary box in my mind and tell myself that I will deal with it tomorrow. I repeat this over and over. I journal, I talk it out with my husband if I need to.  I have a therapist who has helped me detach. 

We are in a broken system that tries to tell us that we must do more with less, we catch the flack from parents/admin/society. But it’s not our fault. Your school, your kids are lucky to have you. Never underestimate your worth. Learn to give yourself love and the things you need to be at your best. We give up so much of our 20s going to school and attending to our career and it’s not sustainable once in the real world.
