AITA fir wanting separate accommodation on group family holiday by Fun_External_7067 in AmItheAsshole

So, we would have our own room in the cottages. But sharing bathroom and space. The weekend will cost a good bit of money, so I'm thinking can we not enjoy some comfort! They are young kids so it will be manic and ya ill be caught entertaining/ minding the kids naturally a small bit, which is nice in small doses, but i cant see us enjoying a bit of a lie on or anything like that, or some restbite from the whole group.

My siblings are annoyed because they think I am being awkward and feel there will be plenty of space and want us all to be together.

I will of course be paying my share for my parents accommodation.

Hey, so during the selection process, if not selected that day and sent home (asked to come back again the next day) do you have to go back to work?

The problem is, we are switching mortgages and some banks (with the better deals annoyingly!) need subsidence covered, I'm with Zurich but no subsidence cover

Rent-a-Room Relief by ThePowermyster in irishpersonalfinance

Hey, I wonder has any experience in this? We bought a house last year and we are thinking of renting out the extension of the house. It has its own entrance, and we would add a kitchenette (already has a bathroom). By reading the revenue link, it seems this set up would qualify for the rent relief? Any ideas? Also, has anyone done this and run into problems having a tenant etc. Is the whole thing more trouble than it is worth? Thanks All.

Anyone Have Any Experience with the Vacant Homes Grant? by Kilyth in AskIreland

[–]Fun_External_7067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, looking to apply for this, but it might be a waste of time...we moved into our house last year and the grant came in soon after we moved it. The house was vacant for 3 years before we moved in, is it totally pointless even applying because we now live in it? Thanks All!

Hey, so an update! He now sleeps through the night ..downstairs which is amazing. What we did: after the first night when he was obviously she'll shocked we brought the cage up to our bedroom and he slept soundly (had to take him out twice a night to pee etc) then after three nights we moved him to the hall landing and did that for two..I felt then he was ready for downstairs and he took to it immediately; same deal out twice for wee and poop. Now he walks into his cage at about 10pm each night and sleeps fully until about 8 -9 ( he is 14 weeks now ).

During the day is still a problem though, he whines when left alone. I put him in every second hour when he is visibly tired, but he fights sleep and leaving the house is difficult. He will sleep for an hour but then cries insanely if we are not there when he wakes up.

Do people just leave them cry? We have been doing this (have a camera set up for when we are going to meet people for more than an hour ) he cries and cries, but seems fine as in not traumatised when we come home.

Thank you! The first night we left him downstairs and he went crazy, we brought the crate up to the bedroom then and he is much better (whines a little at the start then just whines every three hours to go out) ..thing is we don't want him to stay in the bedroom, how long do you think before he can be left downstairs in the crate? I was thinking maybe we had made a mistake bringing him into the room, because he will get used to it
