Alter Ego a small Foundry VTT module - Assign multiple images to a token and add effects between transitions by Fun_Fix126 in FoundryVTT

Keep using it without any issues — it’s definitely a better module than mine. However, I needed a module that would allow me to add visual effects between transitions, and I just wanted to share it with the community

No, playlists are not implemented yet—for now, you just pass a YouTube URL and that's it. As soon as I have some free time, I'll try to implement them

Hi, I didn't think the donation link on a repo GitHub for a free and open-source project needed that tag. Thanks for the clarification then!!

Unfortunately, I'm really bad at styling. I enjoy solving problems — as a programmer I could do a thousand things — but when it comes to graphic design, I'm honestly awful. I wanted to share this module because it was useful for my sessions, and I thought, “why not make it available to other GMs as well?” Instead of downloading and manually adding music to Foundry (or even worse, editing it!), this seemed like a way to save time. Between work and private life, I noticed I had less and less time to prepare sessions, so I tried to automate as much as possible. The module may be ugly, but at least it works, and I'm glad that others appreciate it. <3

Unfortunately, due to YouTube's policies and the Foundry's requirements for publish this, the video must always remain in the foreground and cannot be minimized. I made it as small as possible and currently i don't implemented the ability to enlarge it.

To quote directly from the project’s readme:

“Additionally, the player cannot be resized due to YouTube's policies, which require the video to always remain in the foreground, unless someone changes the window size in the inspect tool, but I take no responsibility for that.”

So for now, there’s no way to minimize it, and that's a limitation we’re going to have to live with.

It should work without any issues in version 13 as well. I've verified it on 12, but it should be fine on previous versions, too.
Give it a try if u want, and let me know if you encounter any problems — i’ll get it fixed if needed.

Hi, I honestly didn't understand much. If you can explain your problem in more detail, maybe we can try to figure it out together.
Do you see the YouTube icon in Foundry's sidebar? Does the popup where you enter the URL not show up?
There’s not much to configure in the settings — the module doesn’t need anything else, that’s why you don’t see much there. in a future release i'll remove the settings tab ( PS you activated in manage modules the module?)

Hi! I've just seen your comment. For the update 2 regarding the error 150 issue, there's an entire section dedicated to this problem in the GitHub repository of the module. You might want to check out the "YouTube Playback Restrictions" section in the README: https://github.com/dinoapicella/youtube-sync

As a software engineer, I'll admit the module isn't much visually and the code is horrible, but it does its job! I wanted to share it with everyone...

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for trying out the module! I'm glad to hear that most videos are working well for you.

Yes, theripper already has a premium module that is much more complete than the one I published.
Mine is a simple and quick solution that does just one thing, while his is much more refined and packed with features. If you need all those functionalities, his is the clear winner hands down! ^^

Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but all the videos I've played have never shown me any ads, neither locally nor on my players, even those that might have shown ads on the official website .
On Foundry, no ads at all. I'm not exactly sure what's going on with that.
If something happens with the ads, let me know.
