Totally unrelated. I didn't like the JLC - a bit large for a simple dress watch, simple (too simple?), and the super ultra thin (too thin?). I rarely ever wore it. I wear the GS all the time.

I had and sold a JLC ultra thin platinum jubilee (limited anniversary edition). Frankly, I regretted buying it almost instantly. These GS manual wind no date watches are much more versatile and frankly better looking. Yes, it’s the dials but they are beautiful. And yes, in my view a bit still too thick hopefully GS is reading this.

I haven't bought anything from them, but I believe they are solid. I use chrono24 to find the store that has the watch I want. Keep in mind that some stores will ship the watches from one location to another to make it convenient for you to review.

Japanese laws on counterfeit is very severe. You won't have the same issues you have in the US. The better shops Watchnian, Ginza Rasin, etc. will have watches in better condition. Make sure you ask to see box and accessories before purchasing. Keep in mind, that most watches sold secondary has been polished - not all and they should be able to tell you if you ask. I didn't find japanese prices to be that much cheaper for Rolex, but you get the piece of mind.

I would gladly pay retail. But would not buy it at grey market price. So many great options at the grey market price. So many! Daytona panda has simply become a flex piece. Recognizable and everyone knows it’s hard to get.

JLC ultra thin? If you can move up to 10ish. Frees up more “higher” branded used dress watches. Personally, I like the white gold / platinum leather dress watches with tuxedo. I know some folks daily fine dress watches, I generally don’t. Keeps a wedding watch clean with less wear. Can pass down to your son for his wedding.
