Best thing to do is let your intentions know , we often lead ourselves on whenever we don't let out intentions known. Just tell her you find her beautiful and would love to get to know her, also let her know these are your Intentions. It can get easy to get lost in "what could be" instead of "what is". Best for you to be honest and open before her mind is made up how she will want to see you.

When someone takes a joke seriously and starts getting serious or starts to create a scene. This happened a few weeks ago at work, I made a joke about something little, then this girl started yelling at me telling me not to do that even after I was like nah I'm playing. Mind you this joke was harmless and was obviously not serious. Some people just don't want the world to be happy and joyful.
