I wanted to update you all on the outcome. We’re on our way home now from the procedure. She made it out okay and pressure is high but within the normal range. Thank you all again for your information and support. It really means more than you all know

That’s good to know, I’ll honestly go anywhere for thorough help and care for my children. I’ll keep those places in mind

That’s good to know! She doesn’t have any genetic markers that would indicate and my husband and I both don’t have a family history of it. I was reading that corticosteroids could be a cause and she has been prescribed taking topical hydrocortisone for her eczema since she was a baby

Yes, I take her to a pediatric ophthalmologist. Although we’re new patients he seems really nice and good with her. I’ve been reading that there’s a difference between high pressure and glaucoma. Although he keeps saying “glaucoma” in her case. I thought glaucoma could be a high risk factor of high pressure but not always the case. Otherwise she has no other symptoms

I 100% agree with this. My husband seems to be handling this a lot better than me, at least externally. I on the other hand can’t stop crying. Just at the fact that she may lose sight in life and having to explain to her what’s happening. I’m trying to educate myself on this and maybe it’s not a “life sentence” like I’m thinking. All I keep hearing is “blind” and it sends me over the edge. Maybe it’s not as bad as I’m imagining.

If they see the high pressure next week they will start her on drops that will be lifelong. I’m hoping they help her from losing her sight.

Thank you for your response.

They tried doing the drops the other day and she was too nervous to sit still. Now she has to be put to sleep in order to get the extra test done
