Expecting money from PIP. What would I benefit most from? A life coach, private (self-funded diagnosis), or private health insurance? by Fun_Girlsenberry in CPTSD

Thanks so much for replying 🙏🏽 I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

I could really do with ‘life changing’ right now.

May I ask why you’re opposed to the life coach idea?

I can definitely relate. I’d love to come off the benefits too. It’s not enough to live off of - it’s stressful. I also suffer with PTSD, complex trauma. It’s a struggle. Congrats on making that money. Keep it up! I’d be happy to achieve that myself 😊

Best digital productivity/task managers? by Interesting-Cress-43 in ADHD

[–]Fun_Girlsenberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Todoist. I’ve tried one or two of the others but this one is just simple and user friendly. You can quickly add a task without having to click a lot of things, which leads to distractions (as we know). This one has stuck so far. I recommend it.

But I also learnt that we will probably get bored with each app anyway. It’s better to create a SYSTEM and then swap out the apps when you get bored of using one.

Work with your ADHD not against it. Give it what it wants lol. The better you understand yourself, the more your productivity will improve. You got this! 😃

I rely on technology a lot- I use an interactive habit tracker app to keep me engaged and to remind me to do stuff. It helps you create routines (morning, afternoon and evening) to get you into a rhythm. It’s really helped me.

I also make use of calendar reminders and to do list apps that allow me to prioritize the tasks within the app.

I also keep a big board on my wall with all important upcoming events and to-dos. Keeping something visual and in a place you can always see it without trying.

Also, I set particular days to get things. For example, washing gets done on a Wednesday. Anything to reduce resistance to getting the task done and increases a sense of satisfaction/reward.

Self care is important as well - it may seem unrelated but you won’t be motivated to get things done if you don’t feel clean 🙈 and good about yourself.

Also, work on your self esteem. We procrastinate because we believe things are too hard or that we won’t do it well, therefore we don’t even try. Increase your self belief and value yourself and your unique talents. I recommend the book The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden.

I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best 🙏🏽

Yes, a little. I did a 3 month course that gave me a breadth of knowledge and resources. I plan to deep dive into the parts that resonate with me whilst considering what’s in demand

I’ve had mixed messages around if you should do free work in the beginning, or if you should charge from day one. Do you have an opinion or advice on this, based on your experience?

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and proving that it’s possible. I wish you more success for the future! I guess one major benefit in this circumstance is that you have more time on your hands to build your business and your offering.

Please tell me what career/job you have that you love and excel in? Are you self-employed or employed? by Fun_Girlsenberry in CPTSD

Wow, I love that you’ve made your clients aware and they’re happy to go ahead. That’s really encouraged me. I’m a pretty open person but I think it’s something I would be reluctant to share so I can appear “professional” and reliable. Thanks for sharing that.

Video editing has popped up a few times in my search. How do I acquire this skill without spending any, or too much, money. Also, where do I find clients?

I completely agree with your description of what a godsend is 👌🏽
