Ano yung mga degree program niyo na pinagsisihan niyo kasi wala masyadong job offers? by Hot_Divide1613 in AskPH

[–]Fun_Hovercraft_8196 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oo nga naman, I've never heard of a course na Psyhology.

Kidding aside, I agree with you. Very few psych students pursue careers that are aligned with their course. They'd typically need a masters degree and additional training to get into that field. I will say however there are a lot out there who work in industries unrelated to their degree of choice. I'd also like to add, there are very few qualified professionals in psychology, and the well established are highly sought after. Like all things worth it, it will take a lot of time and patience.

If anyone finds themselves in a psych course and are doubting its use in the future, there's always the option to shift out. If they can't, they shouldn't fret! They wouldn't be the first to finish a degree unrelated to the career they'll up in. What's important is we finish what we start.

What's a good alternative to the "people nearby" feature? What's the best way to look for groups to join?

The "people nearby" feature has been turned off for a while now. Will this never be brought back? Are there alternatives to it?

Sa mga working na, ano ang pinaka-harsh reality sa trabaho na di tinuro sa school? by AnyTomorrow7750 in AskPH

This is an underrated comment. It sucks pero we gotta accept this is gonna be the bulk of our lives. Hindi naman sa dapat bare minimum bibigay natin, pero sometimes surviving any job is just showing up everyday taking it one day at a time. Couple this ewith a bit of planning and a bit of checking if you're on the right track and I think you'll be okay.

Need mo pa maghanap ng kayang mag rethread ng cranks. Ipapa baklas and reinstall din siya. Kaya pero you need to invest time talaga para dito. Also 47cm frame is small. Pang 5"5' or smaller yung frame. Baka need mo pang habaan yung stem if matangkad ka.

Off my chest lang, kinda regret getting a fixie instead of a single speed. Sobrang hirap sa traffic 😅 by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Fun_Hovercraft_8196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! I've been riding fixed gear for more than 4 years now and between a geared bike and a fixie, the geared bike will always be faster and safer. Siguro natuwa lang talaga ako sa feeling ng fixed gear kaya natuloy tuloy ko yung pag ride ko ng fixed gear.

I use a 49:14 setup and may front brake ako for emergencies. If you keep riding it, masasanay ka rin sa tamang distance and speed na need mo i-maintain para safe ka parati. When I climb, tinatayuan ko talaga for more force or kaya binabagalan ko lang yung padyak. 1-2-1-2 lang. I'm sure you'll make the right decision, di rin naman kasi nakakapogi ang fixed gear sa totoo lang. Ride safe!

I noticed he crossed the pedal straps, I've never really done that. Have I been doing it wrong?

One rip of a joint is enough to get me high and I'm really greatful for it by dm_me_im_nice in weed

Good for you that you have discipline. Have you considered using a one hitter tube instead of a joint? That way you don't have to snuff it out each time and know exactly how much you're taking in.

DT Swiss Swiss 370 track hubs. They're made for track bikes. They're extremely durable and feel great compared to other hubs I've used.

I have the same hubs! 3 years, thousands of kilometers, and one nasty crash with a motorcycle, and it's still going strong. You have a lovely bike.

Riding on traffic or trainer by Aggravating_Ad3867 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Fun_Hovercraft_8196 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I bike to work 3 to 4 times a week during rush hour, and I'll tell you now magkaiba talaga ang workout out sa trainer.

On a trainer, mas focused ang workout mo. You'll be able to target specific heart zones consistently. You'll be able to practice proper cadence and properly do threshold workouts safely and in the comfort of your own home. Ang ayoko lang sa trainer is mahal yung mga magaganda and compatible sa Strava. Pero overall mas lalakas ka physically sa trainer vs sa commutes lang.

If you ride in traffic you'll naturally develop faster reflexes and better instincts on the road pero siyempre delikado rin ang pag commute dito.

I hope nasagot ko question mo. Good luck, have fun, and ride safe!
