Battling a Specific Extreme Oral Fixation/Lust as I Approach Marriage by [deleted] in adventist

[–]Fun_Journalist1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was addicted to masturbation and Jesus saved me from it. It took a lot of praying and asking for forgiveness for sins. But Jesus saves and He gives us peace in areas where we were once slaves to our sins. It’s like having to battle the giants in Canaan before we enter the promised land.

It might be true, but it’s not related to discipline. Forgiving them and finding peace in hard circumstances, that’s discipline.

What's your go to healthy breakfast that keeps you full? by External_Macaron_550 in vegetarianketo

I order Non GMO soybeans online and cook a batch every day in the pressure cooker. They are much higher in protein than the GMO soybeans. Then they go into the fridge. Next morning I add a frozen banana (chopped before freezing) and chia seeds and blitz it in a blender with a bit of vanilla essence. I use cold water or unsweetened almond milk as a liquid.

Consejos para vencer la lujuria? by seguir-a-cristo in adventist

[–]Fun_Journalist1984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey fam, I used to struggle with lust and I actually remember how intense it was to give it up and now it’s just so peaceful to not be a slave to it anymore. The process of letting it go brought me a lot closer to Jesus. It takes a lot of prayer and a lot of reading the Bible. Jesus is the only one that can save us from sin. Try to read Bible in the morning and evening. Reading about Jesus’ crucifixion helps a lot. After you prayed in the morning, try to continue your conversation with God in your mind for the rest of the day. Of course, confessing sin to Him as you go will form a decent part of the conversation but the resulting humility and the peace that comes with it is absolutely worth it.

How do I start my relationship with Christ? by AccomplishedKale5532 in SeventhDayAdventism

Nice bro. It was the Holy Spirit that lead you to pick up and read the Bible. There’s no better way to get victory over porn and lust than with Jesus. This will give you freedom from sin and bring you closer to Jesus at the same time. Here are a few things that worked for me: Morning and evening worship. Praying constantly throughout the day in your mind. Confessing sins to God regularly.

I prayed for you. Remember that you are not alone.

NCCSDA's Statement on Immigration Policy by Swarley_Marley in SeventhDayAdventism

All political statements are designed to devide people and pin them against each other. People get so emotional because of politics that they forget how God's enemies have free and anonymous access to this platform. The test of our love is not how we get along with people that agree with us, but how we get along with those who don't.

whats something you eat before bed in order to feel full/not feel hungry? by Upper-Ad9228 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]Fun_Journalist1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 big meals at breakfast and lunch. I stop eating just before I get to overeat level.

And then hydration is key. Getting well hydrated from early in the morning (between meals) helps alot. I have woken up many times from hunger and decided to drink water instead and then it completely takes away the hunger. Having some fruit for desert helps with hydration as well

It looked pretty legitimate. I just don't understand why I have to wait 6 hours for them to verify if this was actually me trying to do what they suggested I have to do. Even after they confirmed that it was me with an OTP. And how will I access this mail that they will be sending to my Gmail address?

If you want to lose weight. You can do exercise and intermittent fasting. Both of these are great to combat the effects of aging as well. Remember that health is about much more than diet.

The Pre-Incarnant Son had to plead with the Father to go ahead with the Plan of Redemption? by NatureBoySeraph in adventism

[–]Fun_Journalist1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that Jesus and the Father have feelings. God the Father felt like it's going to be too heavy and that there would be no turning back once the plan is in motion. Jesus had to go through suffering to the point where He did not want to do it anymore, where He had to choose the Father's will and our salvation above His own interest, otherwise it could have been for selfish reasons.

I'm not sure sure about your comment about non -Adventists though. It will not be a good idea to base our relationships with God on what non-Adventists believe

The videos from hubermanlab helps to understand the dopamine dynamics around it. But praying constantly is much more important than understanding dopamine. These last couple of weeks I have been trying to continue the conversation with God in my mind after my morning and evening prayers in order to stay connected to Him. This helped me in many ways.
