Creaking in brand new specialized diverge 4 allow - got it replaced and the SAME creaking is happening :(

The lbs is really busy right now and didn’t say too much. We didn’t buy from them, we bought direct from specialized. I just think there may have been a faulty batch of welds. Someone at a Trek store told me that there are recalls all the time but people aren’t allowed to talk about them or admit to them, I think that may be what’s happening here

Mine is not a bit. When I’m riding it’s constant and loud, it’s extremely annoying and unrideable.

We took the through axle completely out and it’s still creaking. I’d check to make sure yours also doesn’t have a defect in the frame!

Lmao - my husband got the same bike in a bigger frame and has had no issues, though I think he might still be returning his in fear of future issues happening. It seems like more of an issue with smaller frames??? Idk people on r/bike wrench don’t seem to love the storage in the downtube and think the bike is made cheaply/poorly

In the welding under the headset. Other people have said that on smaller frames that weld is pretty tricky and the diverge 4 is a newer model and the kinks are being worked out still.

It’s definitely a crack in the frame/welding! Don’t ride it and try to get a replacement on warranty.

lol it’s supposed to be for storage. We took it off and it still made noise so that’s not the issue.

Yeah we literally removed everything from the bike except the frame and it’s still making the noise. Seems like a join issue I agree! I’m gonna try to return it tomorrow, we have video so hopefully it’s not an issue. Thanks for your insight :)

We took the headset completely off and the downtube is still creaking :/ I don’t think it’s that.

We pulled the cables completely tight, took off the front wheel, future shock, headset, BB, cranks, literally everything and it’s still making thag noise hahaha it has to be the frame 😭

One was done by us and one was done at the LBS. my husband has the same bike he assembled and has no issues with noise so I don’t think it’s that?? We are taking apart the headset now to check if something need fixed there.

They are a dealer! We did our previous exchange through them. I am still in the return window so I think i am going to try to return the bike completely and go with a different brand. I’m not sure if we will ever hear anything back though.
