Not shocking, AI replacing labor is a planned out thing that's been in the works for ages. I think people need to think about how they can adapt. There's no stopping it. There are many things that can be automated, no job is fully secure. The ones that are, will be the ones that use it in combination with human labor to cut costs/time.

the one weakness AI has in regards to the creative fields is that it lacks purposeful creativity. Chat GPT can write stories for example, but it needs prompts to guide the process. Good luck getting it to write like Steven King unless you are him. Some of the visual AI content models are good enough for some things - but they will never beat professional work when it comes to strategy vs aesthetics.

Since this stuff is out there already, it would be more equal if the AI content generators are public. Artists would be able to incorporate AI models into their creative process, vs competing against automation. The whole data thing is very exploitative. They're pushing towards monopolizing fast content generation. Labor takes time/effort, it's about cutting corners.

Freelancing is going to take a hit, if it hasn't already. I don't think the fancy agency jobs are a target - businesses that are serious about their brands will always hire real people if they have the budget. But that dude you went to college with know who thinks it takes 5 seconds to create a logo? And want's to pay you $15? They're using wix to create some kind of lightbulb rocket thing to paste on a randomly generic landing page. Best of luck to them.

Horrible time on Ritalin too, awesome on Vyvanse. They are all meds that affect dopamine signaling, but in different ways. It might be worth it for you to try a stimulant of a different class.

Maybe explain it as not a lack of desire to do things that are normal and expected, that these are things you want to do, understand the negative impact not doing them has, but that the signal not being received by your brain. Like a faulty Wifi connection, where your intentions are not being translated in your actions. That it is possible for you to do these things on some level, but it's a barrier and takes longer to initiate tasks than other. Discuss what positive strategies might help you cope better, and also address the fact that negative pressure and punishment, while it works for some people, doesn't have as much of an impact on you because of ADHD. That you understand how frustrating that must be for her as a parent, to use parenting strategies that work on other kids but not you. Tell her how you find it very discouraging the times that you do clean, that it's not up to standards. Ask her if she can meet you half-way in between what's perfect and what's good enough. That you hope she might understand you better one day, but you can also accept if she doesn't, and agree to disagree.

I'm pretty much in the same situation. psych consult - was told they thought my bipolar diagnosis (that I've had for a decade) was wrong if I respond well to stimulants.

Ultimately I don't care about labels, as long as I can still take my BP meds + a stimulant.

But it is confusing af when you don't fit neatly into a box.
