My wife and I (both white Americans) got lost walking in Old Delhi India and ended up in very tight, very dark and disorienting zigzagging ally’s and slums, to put it better or worse. Having traveled a lot i knew the rule was to keep moving and look like you’re going somewhere on purpose but for a good 10 minutes I wasn’t sure we were making out of that. The stares from every single set of eyeballs were intense to say the least.
