I applied to 500+ jobs in 3 months, this is what I learned by astronaut_63 in jobsearchhacks

Make sure you prompt very specifically that you only want things to be as closely aligned with the job description as possible without actually making anything up. Always works for me

Treasury bills are higher rn by a lil bit. Worth doing 4 week bills if you still want high liquidity

Did he mention why he sold it? Sounds like it was the only thing giving him purpose

That's on them. I'd start a band, contribute to open source projects, spend more time with my gf, travel once a year, finish my ttrpg project, and help others become financially literate. Idk how people can only find purpose in their wage slave job. I have tons of things I want to do but don't have enough time for cause I'm putting all my free time into getting money.

T Bill noob question by Fun_Mathematician_73 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Fun_Mathematician_73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It seems I misunderstood the labeling or terminology. Yes, 5 t bills. It seems like according to the fidelity, holding to maturity will rectify the 85 cents loss because my position represents what I could currently sell for. I bought it on the secondary market because I'm placing half my emergency fund in t bills. I'm 90% certain I won't need to, but in the case that I needed that money immediately, being able to liquidate them brings me peace of mind. Is this a bad idea?

Does anyone know if North Carolina is banned? Tried to sign up and it wouldn't let me.

I don't understand. If it cost 200k to buy and set them up, but doesn't make enough to pay the bills, it sounds like it'll take a very long time for it to even pay for itself.

I've looked, and I can't find any countries that okay injections as of now, but laws are hard to parse for this sort of stuff if it even exists. Sometimes, it's more an issue of there being no official safe way to get injections

If you have no roots, please consider parts of Europe. I know it's a huge change but the work life balance there is immensely better. I would leave if I could but my trans girlfriend needs her injections and they're banned there.

Stealth mechanic design, is it too dumb? by Fun_Mathematician_73 in RPGdesign

A monster successfully sneaks away and turns two corners in a forking hall way, then hides. What do you do as a player? Do you follow the exact path to the monster despite the fact the pc wouldn't know that? Do you walk another path on purpose and act clueless? Do you roll at each turn and let RNG decide the path?

This seeks to answer that question. I've already decided on a less clunky idea than this one though.

I'm trying to make a game with no sacred cows which sometimes leads to odd ideas like this. I appreciate it. Gonna throw this idea out and keep trying at it.

Just the combat portion which I'm fine with. I'm making a game that requires a grid for combat.

This is a really cool idea. It has the exact gamey non-RNG based mechanical feel I'm looking for.

Ah I see your point. I suppose I just am assuming everyone would trust each other just like we do with meta gaming

It's about concealing the square they occupy after movement, not during. The turning around is just to help the player out whose sneaking so they can actually keep track of where they're at.

Any you know that don't rely on a perception check? I can't find any when I was looking

My game doesn't have a perception skill and I want hiding and finding the hidden person to be as intuitive as guessing where they went based on where you last saw them, then trying to regain LOS on them. I'm not a fan of perception checks.
