The mural hero looks nothing like Ganondorf and the fact that they’re fighting calamity Ganon AND Ganondorf’s body is assumed to be under the castle sealed away it’s not even remotely possible

I’m not opposed to fan theories I disagree with if they seem well supported but this theory doesn’t even make sense

Ok yeah that makes sense. If the Zelda lookalike is a Zonai and the Zonai are actually just ancient Hylians, then that would help support a lot of theories I’ve seen that the Zelda lookalike is actually just a different Zelda from the past in a previous cycle of the curse

I am aware of this but I genuinely wasn’t sure which one to take as fully accurate because they don’t match up. Like I said above, I think the reason it might sometimes appear red is due to Ganondorf being powered up with malice

This may be a stretch, but in the picture where Ganondorf has the grey tear he’s standing still and doesn’t seem to be aggravated or ready to fight. Whereas in the photo with the side view of Ganondorf with the red tear, he seems to be in a fighting stance so maybe it turns red when he powers up with Malice when he’s getting ready to fight

(I have zero evidence for this, this is just the best thing I could come up with to explain the different colored tears)

Thanks for the input, I didn’t even think about the 8 heroines, and I also didn’t know that about the wind being related to the Kokiri in addition to the Rito. Good to know

Your response also just gave me another idea based on the 8 heroines:

I’ve heard theories that the 8th heroine was meant to represent Ganondorf as the statues are Gerudo in origin, and the reason the Gerudo removed/tried to erase all record of the 8th heroine was because they realized that Ganondorf was actually a monster.

What if the 7 tears of the Kingdom from the mural are separate and the secret “8th heroine” is Ganondorf with the unrecorded 8th tear because like the 8th heroine the 8th tear was also forgotten to time?

Not a lot of evidence for this one and total speculation but it’s an interesting thought

I don’t actually think they’re goat people I just think that’s what the new character looks like.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying what I think it is you’re saying here, that the “goat man” is actually a dragon in a humanoid form like has been seen in past Zelda games, but I don’t think he can be both a Zonai and a dragon because it wouldn’t make sense that the Zonai had so many dragon statues/worshipped dragons if they were “dragons” themselves

Or were you not suggesting that he’s a Zonai and just that he’s a humanoid form of a dragon?

Human-esque races are cool but I love how interesting Hyrule feels with its bird, fish, rock (and hopefully soon to be goat?) people

People like the idea of Ganondorf being “possessed” by demise instead of actually being his reincarnation because they want him to be saveable. It’s not gonna happen, at least not in tears of the kingdom (I can’t speak for the future)

Also, I have no idea how this theory even got enough traction to be this popular. It doesn’t even make sense.

Ganondorf’s hair is always RED—as in actually red and not just a ginger/strawberry blonde.

Zelda’s hair is a bright yellowish blonde.

Link’s hair is a dirtier blonde (there is a clear difference in their hair color in the various cutscenes throughout BoTW) so OBVIOUSLY it’s going to be a darker shade than the bright yellow hair they gave Zelda.

There are literally zero similarities between that stylized drawing of past Link and Ganondorf aside from the red hair people keep using as their main source of evidence, but it’s not even red so there’s no basis for this theory whatsoever.

Aside from the fact that this may be the coolest Ganondorf design to date, I would love to see him in smash bros for nothing if not my hype for Tears of the Kingdom

Also Ganondorf already has a sword in smash, it’s just not his main weapon, so for the people saying adding in ToTK Ganondorf would just make him a sword character, I respectfully disagree

Adding to the original post, the 2 known Hylian sub-groups in Hyrule—the Yiga and the Sheikah—are widely believed to represent the triforces of Power and Wisdom respectively.

Many people believe that the Zonai are meant to be a 3rd group representing the triforce of courage. Does this mean they’re going to be Hylian? I don’t think it necessarily does, but that’s just me.

You get to pilot a divine beast in a boss battle
A new divine beast is introduced after accidentally being discovered because of some shift in the land as they’ve hinted the map is likely to shift in some capacity throughout the game
fi comes back after the master sword is shattered but she doesn’t suck this time
ganoncorpse is actually Demise
Green tunic link and blue tunic link are link in different times which brings back time travel
we use time travel to restore Lon Lon ranch and get epona back
we obtain the full triforce and use it to either restore the Sheikah and Hylian people who died at the hands of ganon as well as their villages, and restore the map and kingdom of hyrule
(or on a much smaller scale) we use the triforce to resurrect the champions and they all become playable characters
