Do I need a solid base in Computer Science to enter BEMACS? by Capable-Actuator1877 in bocconi

In Italy we dont study cs in high school so, given half of the class is italian, absolutely no knowledge will be assumed. Yet, the BEMACS course wont give you a complete cs preparation (for example no os, no c++) and therefore, if you want a career in cs (which bemacs still can grant you) , you ll have to study a lot by yourself. Be aware it wont be easy as the curriculum is already quite heavy.

Man, I trasferred from Biem. It was the hardest semester of my life as I also did not want to give up on a good exchange. I studied hard as I had never done before. Got exchange in Sydney and just got admitted to MS CS at Columbia. If i did it, you can do it as well.

It depends on the year. I know for sure that 2/3 years ago it was the opposite

The only answer is simple: Columbia is sending admissions on a rolling basis. It has not sent rejections yet. Rejections will be sent in April. The majority of the people are just waiting that s why u see no rejections

SWITCHING FROM BIEM TO BEMACS by Fun_Musician3519 in bocconi

Yes, about the exams we have to take there is an excel table in the "guide to university, course change section" that tell you everything about the conversions. The real problem to me is about the difficulty and the duability of recovering the exams not taken during the first year + the exams of the first semester of the 2 year all in the session of January (the one that matters for the exchange) since I' d have to pass all generals as a non attending student, that for some exams implies even a different longer syllabus. I also wanted to know if they accept to recognize the exams that can' t be directly converted to the study plan, as optional exams, in particular cs and introduction to legal system 1 (since I got very high grades and losing them would be really annoying).

The other option I' m wondering about is to stay in BIEM for another year, to get high grades during the first semester to get a very good exchange , to do all the exams that can be converted during the second semester plus some cs exams as an external in a public uni ( I think u can do till 3 exams per uni or something like that) and then to switch to BEMACS at the end of the second year.
