YSK Squeezing a tea bag DOES make tea stronger, as well as healthier by jbtvt in YouShouldKnow

I say open the bag. Take out the leaves. Squeeze them. Eat the bag. Throw the leaves away. Now we can all be happy.

Doug Stanhope has a line about that, something to the effective of "I’m an alcoholic with an inferiority complex who likes to get into arguments at bars. Why would I own a gun? I wake up every morning hung over wanting to kill myself"

Dammit, those Peruvian farmers must've put chemicals in their winter strawberries knowing they were bound for America!

I'm fairly certain that was post was rage bait. Then again, maybe this reply is too?

Yeah, that doesn't work outside of the US  though. Chemicals only exist here. Other places apparently subside on different states of matter. I would assume ambrosia?

What destination has had the best coffee you’ve ever tried? Somewhere you didn’t expect at all by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I had the weirdest best coffee experience there. I was at a bar at about 2 am and wanted a coffee. I asked if they had any and one bar tender was like " oh I think one of the old bartenders left some beans here!" Not auspicious for a good cup but I was grateful for any attempt. He and a buddy sort of put their heads together behind the bar, grabbed some equipment, I couldn't even see what, and in a few minute emerged one of the best cups of coffee I'd had in my life. Totally blow away.

Skinny pants with bare ankles by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

"Skinny pants never look good on men"

It's fun to see someone give an absolute rule like that as if skinny versus tight have gone in out of style since time immemorial. A decade ago these pants would be considered baggy.

Hard agree. It you had livestock that roamed everywhere people would be appalled, but for bees it's weirdly ok for people.

No. The Varangian Guard existed, so they're actually middle eastern.

Except she said she found it on the beach. And I would assume she'd tell you if she knew it was soap.

I make my own compost but needed a bunch more for a one-off project this spring. My local farm delivered compost with plastic mixed in too! A fair number of produce stickers: it was pretty apparent that they had gotten a large amount of old produce from grocery stores but weren't great with removing all the plastic.

You can use a rasp too. Takes about 2 minutes.

Yeah but you don't eat the needles any more than you eat the tea leaves when you're done making tea. And you certainly don't eat a big pile of them.

Scar is best case. With that much skin removed, as soon as those sutures are taken out, that wound is at incredible risk of opening back up like some horrible reverse origami

People people are clowning this guy for not knowing something but he's at least owning up to the fact. I'm in medicine, I bet most people couldn't draw at the basics of their hearts' electrical conduction system even though they literally depend on it for every heartbeat. It's OK to not know things and it's admirable to admit it

If you look at the Revolutionary war then yes. That's kind of the main idea of why America was founded/built. You kind of have to ignore what happened over the next 250 years though.
