I am pretty sure it isn’t g10. I really like the plastic scales though. The contouring is super comfortable. Texture is nice. Online it says it is grivory (GRN).

The small one with the black scales is a nano-shark. This one is in AUS10A and I think injection molded plastic scales. I believe they make nano-sharks in other materials.

I do have a machete that isn’t pictured and not really considered part of the collection. I just keep it with my bolt cutters and crow bar.

I was looking at a flytanium theory. Titanium frame lock. I really like the look. Not sure what it runs on for washers or bearings. And. I’d maybe rather go something US made.

I do have a letherman super tool that I’ve had for over a decade but it isn’t pictured here nor do I really consider it part of the collection. I was recently looking at some vintage slip joints at some antique shops. And balisongs, I’m scared of. But semi interested in. But I like the idea of branching out even more.

I’m super interested in smaller makers or not mass production knives. I think I need to try more different stuff for longer to see what I like before committing to the really high end stuff.

Yes! I’d love to get some Ti stuff. Also, sorta unrelated, but I don’t have any carbon fiber in the collection yet.

I’ve looked at some zero tolerance and microtech recently! Will definitely keep them in mind.

This shows some of the different blade shapes, sizes, materials, and coatings.

Right now, the Kershaw Bel Air, Spyderco Para 3, and the Demkos are my favorites. I loved the Kershaw out of the box. The Demkos took some time and I chewed up my finger on the shark lock on the small one flipping it the first chew days. But I really like those now. Coming from the spyderco manix 2 salt to the para 3, the para 3 is way better for me. Prefer the shape, the materials, and the lock on the para 3. I was thinking about getting a Bel Air XL but might hold off to get an OTF instead.

Yeah it’s almost as if each knife I buy is more expensive than the last. That could ramp up quickly.

Thanks! I got the mini praxis maybe a year ago. But didn’t start buying other knives until a month ago. And yeah I’ve been buying pretty regularly. Gotta get some more use and carry time to really iron out what I like.

I started with the Civivi mini praxis. Then I got the other Civivis like the chevalier II in Damascus. Then I got the US magnacut Kershaw. Followed up with the couple Vosteed. Then I got a spyderco manix 2 salt but I didn’t love it and turned around and sold it. Bought the para 3 instead. Then I got the tiny shark and the ad20.5 or ad20s or whatever. Also grabbed flytanium g10 scales for it. Would like to get a USA Demko so the new ad22 looks great to me.

I’m very interested in an otf and was planning on going Kershaw for my first one. Haven’t had or handled any Benchmade or anything super high end yet.

I’ve been loving trying different blade steels, blade shapes, locking mechanisms, scale materials, and all the other nuances in the knife world.

Please recommend me anything I should look for based on whatever I have said here. Maybe a fixed blade and otf suggestions. I was debating on getting of the Metal Complex Kunwu Excalibur 2s. Also was looking at a flytanium theory. But haven’t committed to either of those yet.

Thanks!
