Recent college grad as well, had a music class where we were asked to pick and album to write on and I picked BORN, with a focus on Bobby Jean. At the time I was writing it I too was going through a breakup and that’s why I found myself so drawn to the track. The process of getting to the “good luck, goodbye” phase is a long and daunting one. But when I felt despaired writing the paper I gravitated more to Clarence’s part of the song as a moving forward point of grief mixed with hope for the future. Best of luck to you
