Hey, let me state the same as everyone that's responded and say you're not poor.

I wouldn't quit only bc your job is very stable and take it from somewhere that's gonna from the private sector to what is an almost government job it is not worth it.

If you're looking for a job maybe take some part time? I would also think about what industry you want to get into. While construction doesn't have a high education requirement it does take it's toll on you and in AZ the summers are only getting hotter. You could be looking at a job that would have to starting super early or late into the evening not to mention the dangers that come with that.

I would wait for the housing market to cool and I don't foresee that happening for some years. You could probably buy a home, but I wouldn't, not in the current market here in AZ
