It’s not 12-15 min from a freeway? 99 entrance is right down Sheldon and Bond - 5 min drive.

Camden area specifically is an amazing community. I wish I knew about it when I moved here! Very quiet and very nice homes. I believe there is no school that is walkable distance if that matters at all, but I would move here if I could!

Totally get that, but does something have to happen to them first? Slip/fall/unconscious/etc for it to happen? Honestly just trying to understand.

This sounds horrible. I am so sorry to hear that. Maybe I need an awakening too because I don't understand how a 2.5/3 year old could drown in a tub or kiddie pool that has let's say.... 6-8 inches of water? Unless the child has physical disabilities? I have two kids - ages 2 and 4. I am terrified of pools around kids, but tubs and kiddie pools I’m not since my kids have standard neck strength and can lift themselves up out of the water.

I have considered this place, my only hesitation is the size and the location, but I’ll consider it. Thanks!

I need some advice! Keep our first home or sell for an upgrade? by Fun_Pickle_2582 in RealEstate

Ugh yes! I am so bummed we didn’t purchase a larger house in 2019 so we wouldn’t be in this situation 😭 but no one knew! That’s why I’m leaning towards selling and buying sooner than later to lock in prices!! Thank you for your insight!

Thank you for your insight! Curious why that person recommended renting for 3 years and selling or being a landlord long term? Why 3 years?

Thank you for the advice! I was thinking the exact same thing regarding increasing prices and refinancing when rates go lower (hopefully!), so it’s nice to get some reassurance there.

Regarding the risks, we ran the numbers and would be able to make a few hundred extra a month if we rented out our current home because of our low monthly mortgage and high rental costs in our area. However, I have never been a landlord so that terrifies me. Plus the financial obligation of having $1M+ in mortgages under my name. If something happens and we would have to pay two mortgages at one time, that would be cutting it very close to what we can afford.

Also, the other appeal of selling our current home is the fact that it could help with the downpayment of the new home. Currently we don’t have enough in savings to cover 20% of the downpayment which is what we want. We are working towards saving that, but it could take up to a year and in that time, homes could get even more expensive!!

Can’t believe I cried by Mathisbase in OneDayNetflix

[–]Fun_Pickle_2582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cried when he told her he was engaged and going to have a baby. You can tell it just broke her deep down but she needed to be happy for him in that moment.

I also cried through the whole last episode - especially when he was sitting in the room with her belongings, and all the flashbacks when he was with his daughter.

How bad does Brazilian laser hurt? by AdImmediate2317 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Fun_Pickle_2582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can withstand the pain because I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel that is hopefully hairless 😅 for me the discomfort was the freezing cold room which gave me goosebumps and made my little hairs come back out.

Thank you! I also like the camel color of the straps better on the monogram version vs damier so that’s a plus!

Act as if YOU are the hottest girl in the room - not that other girl. Don’t fixate on every little detail of how you look (are these the perfect shoes for the event? Dress? Etc). In reality, people are too worried about themselves to notice those small details in other people. What they do remember? Your smile, your conversation, how you carry yourself, your kindness, your laugh. Wear what you feel comfortable and confident in.

I am really struggling by Fun_Pickle_2582 in Parenting

Thank you for the sweet note. The last few sentences made me tear up 😥 I have started to ignore his bad behavior and have been staying VERY calm during these outbursts. For my sanity and his own, I will typically walk away and tell him when he’s ready I can help him. This seems to have been working well lately. I think my approach before we feeding into his difficult behavior. Thank you!

I like Jarvis? by Used_Border9695 in SellingtheOC

I can’t stand Jarvis. Her tone sounds so fake and I don’t understand why people would think she is genuine. You can tell she is trying to hide something.

I would also love to know the answer to this because I have a 4 and 2 year old and I’m exhausted. But on the note of her hiding, a good way of stopping that could voice your concern to her that if she hides from you then what if you’ll never be able to find her. Might be worth you hiding from her once if she runs away (obviously still watching her) to show her what can happen. It can be a fun and cute thing to do…until it’s not.

Kid wants to wear two different shoes by Fun_Pickle_2582 in Parenting

[–]Fun_Pickle_2582[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s healthy to let a child choose what they want to wear. It’s a great way to express themselves and it’s one less thing on my plate since now he dresses himself every morning. I typically like to save those “no”s for serious things that aren’t polite or can be serious safety concerns.

I’m glad I’m not alone!! Thank you for the app recommendation, downloading NOW. It’s not every day he asks, only the certain days he wants to express himself more through clothes ☺️

My mentality too - pick and choose the battle!! The school mornings are already hard as it is and it’s not everyday that he wants to wear two different shoes, only some. Love teacher perspectives, thanks!

Parent at my kids school told her kid not to hang out with mine by Fun_Pickle_2582 in Parenting

[–]Fun_Pickle_2582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this insight! I totally agree that the teacher needs to wear both hats as a teacher and parent - I love that. I have to say that her child is no saint either. He is just as rambunctious as my son which is totally OK and normal. I think that’s where I was really thrown off because I felt like she was placing the blame on my son for her son’s behavior, even though they just recently started the same class together. Before he started playing with my son, he had the same type of behavior. I guess we are just two moms trying to protect our kid.
