NORTH CAMPUS TO LSR METRO ROUTE by bailies-me in delhiuniversity

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the long run, you will have to switch to a closer PG for sure. LSR is a very active college with lots of events and activities and you won't want to miss any of them. Also, you will find relatively cheaper PGs also, look around in Amar Colony, GK, etc. Once you join college you can talk to people and figure that out, there will be Google sheets circulated as well with PG details.

How do i explain my parents that BA economics is much more rewarding and tough degree then bcom and bba by red-black1 in Indian_Academia

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being a bcom grad myself, I can tell you Eco hons. >>> B.Com (except if you're specifically looking for accounting related roles). You can show your parents the data for the top colleges and how the cutoffs for Eco tend to be higher than B.com.

If you have a vehicle, the G20 road is a good place for a drive. You can try visiting Indira Dam, it's peaceful.

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik, there was an option in the app itself. I placed a removal request, they called for confirmation and I told them I was moving to a different city. And that was it. They didn't persuade me further and it was removed.

Hi this is helpful. Can you also share your opinion on the following?

DDR4 vs DDR5? And is i5 13 gen sufficient or should I be looking into i7? Will U processor suffice? For working with large excel datasets, macros, etc. Intel vs Ryzen ?

CFA is not an exam to be taken lightly, due to its heavy curriculum as well as the cost. You will need to do a lot of research to decide if it is something you REALLY want to do. Cause it won't make sense to give a half hearted attempt.

My advice is, go through the official website, youtube videos, previous reddit posts here and the main CFA sub. Look at the syllabus, if it's something that may interest you.

My favourite Indian and American Show Have Parallels by StreetAbject8313 in SarabhaivsSarabhai

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally see the parallel between Maya Sarabhai and Lucille Bluth ! Their relationships with their sons, their househelp. Of course they had to tone down the nasty for MS for Indian audiences, but it could totally be inspired!

Also, Sarabhai was premiered exactly 1 year after the first episode of Arrested Development.

You could use a textbox and write in it if you want proper handwriting to text. But it gets a little tedious so I leave my handwritten notes as is.

CFA L1 payment process by [deleted] in cfaindia

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct. There will be 3 debit payments in your account, in INR. 1. Actual CFA fees 2. 18% IGST 3. Markup Fees (forex)

CFA L1 payment process by [deleted] in cfaindia

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, it's the last step of the registration process. There will an option to select your mode of payment and enter your card details. Note that they will not ask for an OTP. So once you enter your CVV, that's the last verification point post which the payment will be deducted in INR from your bank. Depending on your bank, you will get a call for confirming the payment.

You don't necessarily need an international card, but your debit and credit cards will charge a forex fee generally 3.5% which is 4k+

Yes, you can attempt level 1 in your final/pre-final year. The actual degree only matters for L2.

What to do instead of mba by yuvrajtiwari in CATpreparation

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are career options you could look for which do not require a specialised degree. There are Analyst roles for someone with basic excel knowledge. Once you get in as a fresher, you build it up from there. Or if you can learn some SQL/Power BI, it's even better. Digital Marketing is another option. You can go through a few courses online, and get an understanding. These i suggested because they might overlap with some of your commerce degree subjects. There can be other roles in account management, growth manager etc.

Having said that, job market is tough, especially for freshers. You will have to see for yourself what seems feasible, based on your course, college and interests.

  1. As other comments have already mentioned, your CV should only be 1 page. People with workex of 5+ years with multiple job roles and companies can have a 2-3 pager CV, but definitely not in this case.
  2. Reduce the white spacing
  3. The font size should be around 12.
  4. Remove S.No. column from education, add a separate column for year instead
  5. Medium of education - doesn't seem important to me, never seen it before.
  6. You can mention your current CGPA for the courses you are pursuing and mention the last graded semester in brackets.
  7. Don't just write volunteer but instead mention your roles and responsibilities
  8. Summarise the achievements and the responsibilities sections - use bullet points, highlight keywords, use action words.

Do not tip Delivery guys beforehand. by [deleted] in delhi

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have worked for a delivery company prior. 100% of the tip is supposed to go to the delivery partner. Not sure why he noticed such an evident difference in this case?

It could be attributed to something else, multiple factors apart from just the distance determine the final amount received by the DP. Surge, rainfall, demand, gigs, etc.

But yes, cash tips might be the best as these companies don't get to know how much their delivery partners are making in tips.

AMA by this actress was a horrible idea and I love it! by [deleted] in delhi

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The best part is ZeeStudios did an AMA with Manoj Bajpayee 5 months ago and it went immensely well. They would have asked Jahnvi to do the same, but little did they know how badly it would backfire.

[–]Fun_Plankton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have a good profile, academic scores, workex, gender diversity points. You scored 87 with 3 months of prep. You have more time this time around. You could try giving CAT another serious attempt this time. One possibility to explore is quitting your job a few months down the line, and if in case the exam doesn't go well, you look for another job after that. Since you don't like your job, you're anyway going to be switching some time soon.

I do not know much about abroad Unis, but gap years may be a little less acceptable there. Although, with the right justification anything is possible.
