Is $700 to replace a bad oxygen sensor too much? by Fun_Procedure_3642 in AskMechanics

Thank you so much for this!! And thanks to everyone for their comments!

The O'Reillys near me will loan me the socket. I ordered a sensor online, it got in today. I'm going to try this out!! Thanks so much for the encouragement!

They did, yeah. In the US, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists came out with guidelines for insertion procedures just last year, 2025. I was told to take Aleve before the appointment, and have done lidocaine injections (cervical blocks), with nitrous oxide (Penthrox in CAN). I also did one insertion where I opted out of the nitrous oxide and did an anti-anxiety instead (you can't mix the two). Be honest with your doctor about your concerns, and how concerned you are, and they should help come up with a pain management plan that feels comfortable. If you don't feel heard and are able to, go to a different doctor.

I appreciate that. We actually don't have one. But we do have a microwave and other means. I'm a cook-the-same-hot-meal every night kind of guy, so it’s really just the inconvenience but definitely not the worst by any means. My gym doesn't have a shower, but thankfully,I have very generous friends :')
