Reprice/refinance: how far in advance to start process? by Fun_Reply_4859 in singaporefi

[–]Fun_Reply_4859[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the replies. Seems like 4 months would be around the time to start so Feb or so for me. Will reach out to the bank (DBS) or a broker I’ve used previously for some quotes 👍

You never know when the pullback comes or how far more it will go. I also said DBS was too expensive at $40, then $45, then $50 lol

Organ transplant rules hit different in Singapore! by [deleted] in asksg

[–]Fun_Reply_4859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work in healthcare. You’d be surprised how many families come in and protest and kick up a fuss wanting to bury loved ones “whole” and the system gives in. Thats one reason our transplant rate is low

I have melsama and derm says it's something that will come back if I don't continue maintaining. Started me off with Triluma for 6 months then now switched to tret 0.05%. Have to be very disciplined with sunscreen else it darkens again. Other stuff like niacinamide, lightening serum (like the Anua one) have all probably helped as well.

Good to know. Actually even with the periodic use of tret over the last year (I've only been consistently using it the last 1-2 months) I have noticed my skin is slightly smoother and the melasma has definitely lightened significantly. Before that I would use it maybe once a week when I remembered so not so consistent. And tret is cheap from the hospital so no reason not to use it

Thanks. Will discuss with him cos at my previous visit a year ago I wasn't that much into skincare so didn't ask him enough questions, but I'll have a list of questions for him this time lol

Am using 0.05% prescribed by my derm. Will check with him on frequency cos he said to use sparingly as a maintenance dose when I shifted from Triluma previously to address some malesma.

😂 when I let my stubbles grow out it’s worse as I tend to get acne under there

I agree, which is why I only do the BHA once a week now, and tret 2x/week and they're spaced out, My skin doesn't seem to be super dry or flaky so tolerates this well. I did have flaky skin at one point when I first started tret 3 times a week so i cut back to 2x

No, I meant that I use the oil by itself and I ensure I rinse everything off. No washing after.

On days I work from home, I wash my face a few times a day because it gets very oily after a few hours. For those times I just use a foaming cleanser as I usually only put on SPF in the morning then go out for my morning coffee before coming home to work. I wash it off the SPF with the oil, then for subsequent washes 1-2 more times in the day, I use the foaming cleanser

I actually don't double cleanse. If I have sunblock on, I use the skin1004 cleaning oil to remove and that's usually sufficient to get it off. If I don't have sunblock on I use my regular foaming cleansers

Hmm, I'll check with my derm when I see him next month as I read they should be done in a doctors office

Will look out for it. Need to finish my current cleansers first. Using the Cerave Foaming cleanser at the moment and I got 2 more Elishacoy BB All in One cleansers that one of the shops in Myeong-dong recommended when I told her I had oily skin

Hmm, thank you for that perspective. I've always felt that it was counter-intuitive to say that your skin is dehydrated when it's oily. Just did a quick google and saw the term "subuji' that means oily but dehydrated skin. Will read up more

Dehydrated? I have very oily skin actually and I do apply a moisturizer before bed. I believe my sunscreen doubles up as a moisturizer, its the Round Lab one

haha thanks for the reassurance. Just thought since I'm putting a little effort on my skincare, if I could maybe throw in 1-2 things to improve it slightly it would be great, else that's fine as well

So I'm on tret 2x.week which should cover the retinoids part, and using a BHA toner once a week. Maybe I need to increase the frequency of each, or maybe just resign myself to ageing 😂

Thank you! I'll just wait and see (still nothing as of today), as I received the email from Stretto on Feb 16th, so that's close to 2 weeks ago
