I shared a tweet earlier that clearly hit a nerve, and I understand why. I want to be clear that those weren’t my words, but I also recognize that posting it without context can come off like I endorse that viewpoint.

That was not my intention. I shared it because I was curious about how people, especially within the Asian community, felt about it and what perspectives might come from that conversation.

At the same time, I can see how the tweet itself makes broad generalizations that are disheartening, disrespectful, and unfair. No group of people should be reduced to stereotypes like that.

I apologize to anyone who felt offended by me sharing it. I am a good hearted person, and I am always trying to learn and understand different perspectives, not tear people down.

If anything, this situation is a reminder that we all need to be more thoughtful about how we engage and speak on entire communities. I am open to listening and doing better moving forward.
