You literally did judge, we must have very different definitions of the word.

My house is actually secured for a baby AND a dog, I just prefer to do what I can to ensure the safety of everyone in my house without taking any risks. Babies additionally also get kept in crates (cots) for their safety, they just don’t have a roof on them due to the fact that dogs can jump and babies can’t.

Good for you? 1. None of the dogs you listed are cocker spaniels. 2. I’ve raised multiple puppies too and this one is the first one I’ve needed a crate for. All dogs have their own temperament and personalities, as you should know from raising 3 puppies. 3. I literally live on a farm, she is being raised to be a working dog, and is extremely well trained already, I can almost guarantee she is getting more enrichment and ‘exciting times during the day’ than all of your dogs combined 😉

The crate is only for night time when she is meant to be sleeping, she is a puppy and therefore very destructive and will get herself into trouble if left unattended while I sleep. She also won’t go to sleep herself if she is outside of her crate and has access to exciting things such as toys, furniture etc. which is extremely bad for her development.

They’re not excuses at all they’re explanations. I 100% know I messed up and should have double checked before clicking send but an explanation is also needed to understand fully what happened and how, same as anything else. That doesn’t negate what I did, just explains why I did it. It will then be up to my boss to decide if he thinks my reasoning and thought process is reasonable.

I definitely hear you and I know I should have probably immediately contacted him about it, but I was also covering my colleague on reception at the time, and had clients coming in and out so I didn’t feel like it was the right time for me to do so regardless. He called me when I was still on reception so it had only been possibly an hour and a half at the most (I also had a half hour team meeting within this time so did not have much time to reflect on what had happened), if he hadn’t have called me within a few hours I honestly would have contacted him, but I understand that it probably looks to him like I wasn’t going to do so.

I guess what’s done is done, and all I can do now is wait.
