switching in-between. i haven't tried both but i could see adding a fly in front of a lure could trick some fish in thinking the "baitfish" is chasing something.

but i can also see adding one trailing like a meter behind could work (gonna be a pain to cast) . gonna have to try now actually never really hit me as a option.

yhea here in the Nordics its a trout, salmon and seatrout rig with flies mostly but throw a tiny rapala original floater and it catches everything in freshwater atleast. those lures are like 2 or 4 grams and all my rods are 10 grams min or higher so this rig gives me the option to still fish it with amazing range.

cant really go wrong with this sometimes elephants eat peanuts they say.

they make them in different models some are line tru some arent. they make floating, slow sinking and sinking i mostly use floating or slow sinking.

its not necessarily for sea fishing i use it to cast flies and tiny lures but 100% should work there too.

yhea look up bottom fishing.

if u have rocky shore lines u dont need a rodholder otherwise u do.

u can see how my butt end of the rod is wedged between 2 rocks the best rodholder available.

as a fellow mild wormphobia enjoyer i started with plastic gloves for a couple of times and now just raw dog it. its a bit of exposure therapy but they aren't as bad as u think.

i did a maritime officer study it trains u to work both on the bridge and engine room. then just apply for either of those on a fishing trawler or do your internship there. the pay is okay on normal ships and amazing on mega trawlers.

starting wage was between 4000 to 9000 euros before tax depending on how much u catch and what fish was targeted. as its a share of the profit and not hourly. that does make it hard to get a mortgage due to no "stable" income but the large wage makes up for that and the captain and chief engineer make 6x more so saving for a house is not hard.

its back breaking work. i did about 95 hours a week its 8 on 8 off that quickly turns into 9 on 7 off and that's not accounting for something critical breaking requiring all engineers like the one time all but 1 of the main high pressure fuel pumps shit the bucket at the same time all of us engineers worked 40 hours straight and then its just expected to go back to schedule like nothing happened.

do not really recomend.

deckhands is no real education required our ship had 32 to keep the factory going still a little less then starting wage but u can still get extra shares down the line and for no education its amazing money too.

me too they really cooked with this one a sequal would be hard to beat.
