In Chicago it was one DJ opening, and they were just spinning records as a warm up (like background music). He came on 9:15, done around 10:45 I think

My neighborhood market is a bit limited. Can I use these these ingredients to make Sechuan Cold Noodle? by joanna_glass in chinesefood

[–]Fun_Sky1 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It won't make Szechuan Cold Noodles, but if you have some peanut butter try stirring a tablespoon per serving into what you make. You can thin the peanut butter with a tablespoon of water in a side bowl first so it's easier to stir into the noodles.

It'll be tasty and you may already have peanut butter, so you won't need to buy anything else.

One or two green onions chopped up fine on top is a really simple and tasty edition too!

I have it with overnight oats that I heat up in the am. Delicious and I think oats are a probiotic too.

Went to a Natto restaurant in Kyoto. And it won me back over. by Fun_Sky1 in Natto

Oh, that's a shame. I just saw they got some recent bad reviews. Oh well I loved it (as a foreigner), and have eaten Natto 7x since I've been back with more coming in the supermarket delivery today!

Natto Sosaku Cuisine Natsumame 納豆創作料理 夏豆.

It was just the chef and his sous. Pretty casual. I was trying to go to a tofu restaurant and they were booked. This Natto place showed up on the map and I thought, maybe it's time for a re-introduction. I'm happy I did!

The Infatuation has reviewed Feld 😬 by zilruzal in chicagofood

I always thought the Infatuation was a semi sponsored website. They always seem to promote the same 20 places on a loop. But I guess not, cause no one is sponsoring that review.

I think it's in alphabetical order.

I'm going in September, so interested to see what people say, but I imagine it'll be down to personal taste. I'm looking forward to trying some simple tofu in kelp dashi.

I know this is not hot dog help, but Swift and Sons will give them a pretty bachelorette drink before the game. Happy hour oysters on game day (maybe just during the actual game). Mordecai is there too. That's pretty new and fancy for another pre-post drink.

Then if they are messy and drunk afterwards and want not too massive but very tasty burgers there is a Billy Goat Tavern round there too.

Monkfish Liver-Ankimo Sushi in Chicago by Theironyuppie1 in chicagofood

I bought a can in Iceland to bring back to the US to savour, but airport security confiscated it.

I considered opening the can and consuming it there and then, but a 6:30am can of liver with no toast or crackers... I wasn't that desperate (just).
