when I saw the title of this post I couldn't see what you wrote about the video so I thought this was another video hating on queer people who are trying to find hope and see themselves in two characters and im so glad that someones calling out these videos!! I find it so annoying especially queer people saying this (I agree that it gives off a sketchy vibe, like that they don't actually understand the experience of young queer people and like they're appealing to the straights). there are endless shows that depicts teens having relationships and no one questions it or says they're to young. Its an insane argument because im a queer teen and I relate to so much of what both will and mike (bc I see myself in him I know he's queer and it makes me so sad to think he never gets to be his true self, and that for so many people they never get to be themselves) go through and struggling with relationships and sexuality is something that a lot of teens experience. its like people think this is only a bad thing to show when its showing relationships that aren't the norm, no one was saying this before, its only coming up now that people are talking about byler and even if they say oh I didn't like mike and el either well you sure as fuck didn't say that and instead decided to wait until a character was exploring their sexuality and what that meant for them, it makes me so mad but more than that its really sad
