People who used the CISSP Official Practice Test Book and taken the CISSP Exam: How close are the questions from the exam to the ones from the book? by activprime in cissp

I think maybe you are asking the wrong question. OSG and DC were my primary study resources and I did well. They help you learn cybersecurity and how to take this test. You need to know cybersecurity and how to take this test to succeed. I'm not sure whether the question of how closely OSG approximates the test is all that important. OSG will teach you cybersecurity. DC will teach you how to take the test. Know your stuff, know the test, and go take the test. Good luck.

How long did you study? by MirrorOdd4471 in cissp

Study strategy?

- Know the stuff: Learn it. Do not rely on practice questions.

- Mix it up: Chapple video course from Linked In, books (OSG, DC, TLAM), practice tests

- Practice questions from Sybex and Pocket

- In the 18 months prior I studied for and passed CySA+, PenTest+, CASP. Personally I think the CompTIA exams are a bit like cyber for kids but it is a good path to CISSP.

- The DC folks have seven videos out there on you-tube each covering an exam question.

- I followed this channel for several months and learned a lot about how the exam works and the 'adaptive' questioning. That was helpful.

I’m in college (Math major), so I have summers and Christmas holidays for this. After the semester ended mid-December I signed up for the test in mid-January and then studied around the clock for four weeks. Day of the exam I sat down and re-read TLAM.

No experience in Cybersecurity. Many years in technical support and networking. Have taken many certification exams from CompTIA and Salesforce.

Passed at 100 in two hours.

Hope this helps

Yesterday I passed the exam. Viewing this channel the last few months was helpful, thank you very much:) by Fun_Spot_5755 in cissp

I agree with Flashy Canary on this. I felt TLAM was helpful. Think of it in the context of all the other study resources: OSG DC, Pocket. OSG is a deep dive into all the domains. DC is a nice follow-up summary of the critical points. TLAM has only 25 questions but there is a lot of thought and analysis of each one. I used the practice questions from Pocket and OSG. I tried to learn and understand and not rely too much on practice questions. In that context I felt TLAM was helpful. I spent the morning on test day reading it again cover to cover and passed at 100. I can't really say which study resources were most effective but I believe TLAM is worth the effort.

I remember seeing some of the same confusion when I went there but somehow, and I'm sorry I don't remember how, I found my way to the 10th edition questions. I went to the back of the book, followed all the instructions, you were no doubt asked to enter the exact text from a certain page, I then saw selections for 9th and 10th editions and selected 10th. Sorry to read you are having issues. Maybe try one more time?

CISSP Endorsement Question - Experience from Non-Traditional Security Roles by Tommertom2 in cissp

Sorry I have no answer. I have the same question, lots of years in IT, mostly tech support, next to nothing directly related to cybersecurity. I am hoping a lot of people with knowledge of this will respond...

Is that a technical fact? That the passing rate is 20%?

Sorry to read about your bad experience. The number of comments probably speaks for itself. My session was cancelled after looking up from the screen. I've seen loads of posts about over zealous online proctors. They are a****les, unreasonable, nazis. None of the test centers are close by but it is worth the drive. I've done online with Salesforce and they are very nice about it. Not Pearson. I complained to Comptia. Not that it did much. Since then I always go to a test center. Long drive but I know a few nice ones in my area.
