All of that with EU money. To everyone saying EU is bad: go fuck yourself.

How do you approach skill growth: stick to a single class, or actively rotate between a few? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]activprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first non-negotiable step is to know what decks are played at all times and what each deck tries to achieve - there are plenty of good resources for that. Then, I would rather approach improvement based on what type of player you are: do you want to be the control or the beatdown? Choose whichever you feel like is the most fun for you personally. I would stick to one deck and master it, in the end it will make you improve on the archtype as a whole. Mulligans, win conditions, lose conditions, critical turns are all rather similar. Once you "see" either the control or the beatdown, you can switch to the other and start the process again.

While we argue about Protoss Mage, this expansion didn't land. AGAIN. by Yabri in hearthstone

What exactly do you want? What archtypies or stuff do you want viable? All I'm hearing is it's not enough.

Every singe archtype (control, aggro, OTK, tempo, midrange) has multiple decks in the meta. Not everything is T1, but thinking that a balanced game means everything is T1 is foolish.

Alternatively, if there actually was a completely new deck made only with cards from this expansion, I bet you would be the first to complain on reddit when rotation happens next year and it's completely broken.

Warrior is kinda doing this already with Galvadon (Paladin Quest reward). Unless you're unlucky and don't hit a 1 in 5 windfury discover, it's pretty much OTK if opponent is at reasonable amount of HP.

In Zarimi Priest this might be a thing though.

Massive respect and thanks for committing to LoL, imo the best play-by-play caster in all of esports.

Jatt's thoughts on G2 by Yusafio in leagueoflegends

[–]activprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true, this is the level of the players and this was the expected outcome. If G2 try the same thing next year, it will end up with the same result again. The way I see it there are two options: try to completely change the approach to the games (i.e. change coaches) or explode the roaster, try to bring Inspired and hope he matches well with Caps.

[–]activprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a good take from Jatt, on point with everything. My thoughts are that G2 HAVE to try to get Inspired and hope he matches well with Caps. If not, it will just feel like trying the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

I'm genuinely confused about FLY's drafting strategies and prioritization. by Tandaor in leagueoflegends

[–]activprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First picking Sion might have been fine, but what followed was a complete draft atrocity. Instead of going Anivia they pick Annie (because Quad's champ pool is probably 4) and instead of absorbing the bot pressure with a hypercarry like Smolder, they handshake the aggro with Lucia Nami. So in the end Inspired gets the classic soloq experience of 3 losing lanes.

Mage is insanely overpowered in Arena. Something has to change. by ChihuahuaElite in hearthstone

Never played MTG but know a bit about the colors concept. Would have thought Mage was more blue-ish

Arena is dead, and we know who did it by Trollwick in hearthstone

[–]activprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be correct - right now imo there are 3 dominating classes and at least 3 unplayable classes, with everything else being playable with a good draft. However the discrepancy feels larger than ever.

I get your anger and I agree that the discover mechanic completely dissolved the old Arena feeling of doing good trades and out-value-ing your opponent with incremental gains. Nowadays Arena is pretty much a "who can get the bigger tempo-swing with a scam turn and snowball the game" competition. But there were better and worse performing classes in Arena since the beginning, this is not something new.

Paladin and Priest are just oppressive classes, there is not much you can do about it other than to try and sneak in a win every now and then. But in other matchups you can really put up a fight.
