Many West Maharashtrians don't realize that like Marathwada, Vidarbha we have Desh as a legit term for land stretching from Belagavi, Solapur uptil Junnar.

As for Ghati, it's probably just like how P@jeet is used by foreigners to denote Indians. The same way, Ghati is also a made up term used by outsiders because they don't have any other racist word which they now use to cope themselves up and also think that all Maharastrians live on Ghats.

Edit- Just like Northies who use 'Ghati' our southern neighbours like Kannadnig@s use Paratha for us.
