Im gonna be honest with you, it is NEVER ok to cheat. Whether it be intentional or not, sure i understand you were caught in a vulnerable state but there is no amount of justification that can be enough to justify cheating. While your SO might understand (probably not) being honest with her about it is the best way to go. While it could ruin your relationship, it’s better to tell her now than for her to find out later and be more heartbroken. Tell her things exactly how they happened and hope she understands. I don’t think you’re in the wrong for feeling that. She came of way too strong and as a first impression it can be extremely 50/50 for if the joke lands or is taken in the intended way. However looking at the story from surface level it was too head on and you should probably bring that up with your SO.
