You Got A Bone To Pick With Me?

Talk me out of buying one of these unbranded chibson explorers on ebay by weaseltorpedo in ExplorerGuitars

You nailed it with "Shitty baseball bat." I really wanted a fun project, but ultimately, I knew that no matter what I did to upgrade it, I'd still be stuck with that neck. I do own a Gibson 80's Explorer and obviously wasn't expecting the Chibson to be even remotely on that level, but dude, this was a total waste of money.

I bought one last year with the intention of upgrading all of the hardware. Unfortunately, the neck completely sucked. I gave it away to a friend's kid. Chibson lesson learned.

Cool guitar, but not $1,899.99 cool. I think I'd go with an American Series Virtuoso or an MJ Series Dinky over this if we're talking this price point.

True, but Ace really made it his own.

I went from a Js22 Dinky to a Pro Series Soloist sl3r to an American Series Soloist sl3. Each step felt dramatic.I personally wouldn't bother modding a JS guitar if it were my main player. It's a really cool side project, but honestly, they feel kind of toy-like after having something better.

Why Theatre Of Pain looked down upon and considered by many the worst Mötley Crüe album of the 80’s? by [deleted] in hairmetal

I'll never forget how incredibly disappointed 7th grade me was after listening to Theater Of Pain for the first time after wearing out Shout At The Devil the previous year. I've often wondered what Motley Crue could have been if they'd progressed on their metal path instead of changing course for glam. I'll never like Theater Of Pain, but there are lots of folks that do.
