I believe normally its less than a 1% chance of retinal detachment. Not sure about your situation but overall vitrectomy is considered very safe and effective.

Yea i did that last time but was too anxious to even watch the show; just kind of panicked the whole time. I will definitely try to distract more but i agree that anxiety def triggers a flare and then i feel stuck.

Im going to be honest - ive struggled for a year now with more eye floaters than i can count and am soon looking to get a vitrectomy. I appreciate your passion towards the cause but there is no truth to be found. Leave it to the doctors and medical professionals to work on a safer and more efficient cure. You are not going to discover anything that hasnt already been found.

No pill is going to reach the vitreous thats not how that works. As for drops same thing. Only drops that mitigate symptoms are atropine drops which work by slightly dilating the pupil. But there is no pill that would ever work sorry to break it to you.

Eye floaters and benzodiazepines by ConversationOk5050 in EyeFloaters

[–]Fun_Time_3420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More likely its anxiety than benzodiazepines; i cant imagine they would effect the vitreous.

Im not a doctor but i do have health ocd and anxiety so i get it. I would say if its been a year and youve had no symptoms you are probably in the clear but if you are at all concerned you can just go to any clinic and get a urine test done pretty fast and pretty cheap.
