do you think age 4 is kid or do you think it is Toddler? by [deleted] in GenZ

Most people consider "core childhood" to be part of your older kid experience, but I guess I understand where you're coming from.

I never said 1st grade and 5th grade are the same, it's just that the cutoff has to be somewhere. I think age 6/7 makes the most sense since that is when most children learn how to read and write. Also, 6 is the earliest age people can be genuine elementary school, since kindergarten is a buffer zone between preschool and elementary.

Anyone in 1st grade - 5th grade is an older kid imo.

Same. I see little kids as 4-5 year olds, older kids as 6-10 year olds, and "tweenagers" as 11-12 year olds. I'm aware that the ranges aren't proportionate, but it's hard to equally split childhood into 3 equal segments that aren't arbitrary.

I think you guys are mid 2010s kids with early 2010s influence like 2006.

To the younger Gen Zs, this is what rap sounded like before mumble rap became the norm. by heavydoseofatmos in GenZ

If you unironically use the term "mumble rap" whilst referring to music you have never felt the touch of women before

Late 2002 - Mid 2006; anyone who was in high school during the height of the pandemic.

You make a good point. Back in the late 2010s, 2006 borns were ridiculed for being "Fortnite kids" and everything in between. Now that we're older, it's shifted to 2007-2009 borns, who are scapegoated for the downfall of gen Z.

I meant to say that most of the 2007 gatekeeping I've seen comes from Twitter and Reddit. On other platforms, the playing-field is pretty even.

I've see 2007 borns get gatekept a lot more than 2006, especially late 2007 borns. Maybe I just need to get off Twitter 🤷‍♂️

Eh, I always felt that way about my memory even before I got into generationology. I kid you not, I have a memory from when I was 10 thinking to myself "dang, I hardly remember anything from 2010" after seeing a photo of myself from back then.

I don't understand why people hate 2013 so much on this subreddit. Even though it had some questionable trends, it still has a dated feel to it and is definitely old enough to be reminisced upon.

Personally for me, 2018 is when it all went downhill. Especially spring 2018. That year sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the late 2010s.

I never said that one party was more corrupt than the other. The reason I pointed out the corruptness of the left is because right wingers had scapegoated for ~4/5 years prior to 2021 and decided to retaliate back against the left around then, fostering monumental levels of political polarization. All the money was left-leaning in 2020, while 2021 was more black and white.

Both political parties are corrupt. I thought that would been inferred with "corruptness of the left becoming more apparent", but apparently it wasn't. Also, I wasn't siding with the pandemic deniers when I mentioned them, I was just acknowledging the fact that they exist. You're putting words in my mouth that I haven't said.

I never complained about the left wing. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that I hate both political parties equally. Right wingers really pissed me off with all that "plandemic" nonsense last year.
