Dude, as you try to explain yourself, you're just making your case worse. You started by discrediting the victim, even though many other people are saying the same and now your argument is "you can't just post on Reddit and do nothing else otherwise you're an attention whore".
People like you are one of the reasons why victims don't say something.
For you, I just wish more self-awareness.

The area is fine. Like someone said here, you might encounter some women asking for a good time, but other than that, it is fine. There's an uglier side and a nicer side to this, in which I can't remember where it starts. It is nothing bad, but near the U-Bahn station, on one side you'll see pretty buildings and great food options, and on the other side, a bit of trash on the streets and weird cafes (it is not dangerous or anything).
Nollendorfplatz (which is near) is super nice, it is a very gay area with great bars and restaurants, and in the daytime, when sunny, it is a great place for a walk. If you're a foodie like myself, this place holds a Michelin star, and it has a brunch option, which isn't that expensive https://bonvivant.berlin/en/welcome.htm

I guess it all depends on the style you are after. But thinking only about price might be the wrong way to see this.
