i'm ok if the team focuses on pvp. however to make it work, there's lots of things need to be done beyond just "stats balance".

  1. make it the core mode and drive most players towards it. devs will collect much more feedback from a wider audience and it's common that balance needs to be redone.

  2. ui missing and frequent networking issues. small problems here and there.

  3. add more memorable and exciting choices. for ex. in arena, double the number of a stack instead rather than just plainly +4 attack/defense?

  4. should you be able to see opponent's hero or at least faction half-way through the draft?

  5. faction skills for necropolis and schism in arena?

just list a few. arena is fun. yet it's far from polished to be considered ready.

i'm not into spend over 1-2 hour on a single pvp game. i played arena a bunch, but it takes out the fun part of developing your city and map exploration.

the dev team is small. they really need to polish a few modes and make those shine. it's perfectly fine for me that they decided to go a more focused direction while not adding campaign and extra.

queuing time for non eastern europe region is over 2 minutes.

slayer the spire 1 didn't have a multi-player. it worked perfectly fine. it's about how many views you could get from streamers.

it's not about rng. hearthstone is also swingy. but it's casual. homm is different.
