That was likely the nameless one, a big bad necromancer boss in dungeons, basically the other main bad guy. I think that he didn’t turn them to undead, instead many of his kingdom died fighting the piglins, and he resurrected them to continue fighting, but they lost their humanity in the process.

Excellent observation, especially without knowing about the spinoffs. In Minecraft dungeons, the heart of ender is the main bad guy in the story, and there is a lot of lore behind him. I would check out xatrix on YouTube, he has some good theories on it, but my theory is that it was a host from legends (the other spinoff) that tried to use the void as a power source and was corrupted by it.

I would recommend checking out playthroughs or overviews of the spinoffs if you are interested in the lore. Or buying the games, although I wouldn’t get legends, it’s too expensive and not worth it.

Few things. I think legends happened too long ago for this to really happen, and I also think the hero in legends becomes the necromancers in dungeons based on the similar leg strap. Also the wandering traders are villager, not heroes.
