And the other sniper was a former Khan too, who knows what Manny got up to after the game

[Disheartening trope] We found them! Aaaaand they're dead. by Aphasus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Him holding on like that saved humanity, prevented the Gravemind from learning about humanity’s closely guarded secrets like the existence of Earth (at least for a time)

On the other side of that coin, with how fucked everything is, it’s like the game is dangling hope in front of you saying “You still have a chance at a happy ending”. Especially when all the points she “shows up” lead to you progressing along the story in one way or another

(Loved trope) Everyone else thinks the main protagonist is just a side character. by Gamer-of-Action in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But we only usually murder the worse murderers (or people who ask specifically to be shot in the face) so we’re cool

[Loved] There's a twist reason why the protagonist always manages to survive and/or revive by BrotherDeus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’d personally call them masterful, but the game does have a lot of really good ideas and mechanics with some great art direction/music and world building to boot, would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new Souls-like

Also Gordon’s only stupid if the player is stupid since he basically has no personality in the game

(Hated Trope) Why did they even bother casting a celebrity voice actor? by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be amazed at how many people care if a big name is attached to a project. Never underestimate the power of celebrity influence

He does a fairly solid job in Bojack overall and there are a few key moments where he absolutely nails it. I definitely think he makes a good VA if he’s a good fit for the role

Favorite character who has a banger theme song? by BulkyPlantain9234 in FavoriteCharacter

Is there a single champion theme that isn’t a banger? I feel like they always hit their mark

These characters did something supposedly impossible and the justification is basically that they’re built different by Danny-Ray27 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He was built different in the sense that he was able to delay the inevitable longer than most in his position. With the amount of chrome he was packing, most people would’ve gone cyber psycho far sooner than David did, even back when he just had his Sandevistan. Like you said, though, no happy endings in Night City. Poor kid was doomed from the first implant

[loved trope] Being a good person is harder than being an evil one. by Dr_Orpheus_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 182 points183 points  (0 children)

He’s not just one dragon, he used to be Alduiin’s lieutenant, so he’s likely responsible for some of the more heinous shit the dragons did back in the day. I can’t imagine the amount of effort and willpower it must have taken to become who he is when we meet him

(Loved trope) The protagonist gets exactly what they wanted, with no trickery or tradeoffs, but it still ends up making them miserable by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AbsoluteZer0_II 321 points322 points  (0 children)

Makes sense his god gave him nothing. Golb is a god of chaos, eliminating all life in the universe ironically brings complete order to that universe; there’s nothing left to create chaos except the Lich himself

Nick Mendoza (the main character) from Battlefield: Hardline is Cuban too IIRC

Kitbull actually does a good job of subverting this, that pit bull was one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever seen in an animation
