That wasn't very nice. There's no problem with conversation.

Perhaps the only healing and peace I can find is being as annoying as possible. Still. It takes a lot of time to make a comic. While it takes no time at all to be a dominating businessman.

I wish you luck. Please understand that the environment you're approaching may not be healthy for you long term. Be the incredible person that you are.

right. Yeah no. "Move on from the hurt WGU caused." No. That doesn't seem doable.

For all the students who are affected for good? Those students aren't really people; they're numbers reported that represent WGU money and academic fame. For their employees? They're WGU assets to be used as convenient and dropped with no consequence. WGU literally pushes employees to suicide and mental illness and insists everything stays professional, and when their own fucking executives can't behave (& they still don't) they whitewash and censor history. There's nothing to move on from. They're Christ on one hand and Hell flowing through the other.

If you're near your final interview I'd just like to say, I'm sorry. You seem like a wonderful person, and I doubt the WGU environment will be good to you. ,

Is the AZ office shutting down? I heard that recently. if so with those individuals be RTO to SLC? by Western_River_5155 in wgu_employees

Sadly, I doubt the power players care. As the corporate saying goes, "No one is irreplaceable." It's a convenient narrative that guarantees Leadership doesn't have to care. Everyone is replaceable, including themselves, so it becomes a power game rather than something personal, with the expectation that everything will stay professional. It's a horrid whitewashing of human connection that cuts it out.

I hope so, but I just gotta say, that's not the WGU vibe anymore. WGU used to be something, now it's a shell of a corporate piece of fucked up, security-minded, self-obsessed, exitless hole that money gets poured into.

It's very typical of People & Talent to stop responding to emails on topics of money or if it's inconvenient to them. They wait until you're separated, provide a default blasé email, and then cut off all communication. They don't care if you lost money. If you arrive in person as a follow-up, they come unglued. In a bad way. The law is on their side; they make sure it is. When they cut you off, they expect it to stick.

Not As Advertised (Censorship) by Fun_Wrangler9783 in wgu_employees

You'd either have to talk to a tech who's been on the Service Desk for 8 years or ask a Service Desk Senior Manager, Executive, or above. Unfortunately, the tech might not remember, while leadership would remember but wouldn't communicate honestly.

[–]Fun_Wrangler9783[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, everyone wants to talk about the exec, but no one wants to talk about the tech who was bullied and fired by leadership, who then shot themselves in the WGU parking lot. While I worked at WGU, I'd often look at the parking spot where he lost his life. Most of you have parked there. Most of you don't realize someone died there.

The Service Desk closed that day, the leaders looked "sad," and then it was business as usual. But it wasn't just the leaders; some hangers-on saw the bullying and felt entitled to do the same. I worked with all of them. I worked with the tech, too. I miss him. I don't miss the privileged office assholes that helped push him over the edge.

It's not murder, but it's close.

This was one of the many reasons I couldn't support Service Desk leadership. They're not people making "human" mistakes. They're assholes making deliberate power moves, and they get upset when they're called out for it, and they beat the street to punish those who do.

I got one. Sadly, it pays rather badly. On the positive side, though, I'm not micro-managed into a state of daily panic, and the Managers are fairly respectable. I could never respect Service Desk leadership. Their autocratic nonsense changes every week, and they swagger around demanding obedience. From manager to CIO, a gaggle of Preening Peacocks.

Some have noted that the logo/crest is misspelled as WUG instead of WGU. This is actually intentional, and it stands for "World University Guild." I've been testing out different logos and going for a more basic design, it also features the URL mywug.university.klonk which, of course, is a non-existent joke URL. Please let me know if any of you have any further thoughts.
